Yay or Nay on if I should Clay - detailing poems and haikus

In my own personal experience I have not found there to be any ounce of truth to that statement. Using a general grade clay towel on various different vehicles has never marred any of the finishes.

Yay or Nay on if I should Clay - detailing poems and haikus

He said he is polishing. So any potential marring from claying is going to be removed any way.

    Soap Cleaning Power

There is nothing on the Griots website that says this in writing but I did find a clip on their YT channel (live Q&A video for Wash & Coat) confirming what you say regarding using a pre-wash for heavily soiled vehicles. I suppose in the context of cleaning a really dirty vehicle, would anyone...

Yay or Nay on if I should Clay - detailing poems and haikus

I always clay no matter what when I'm applying new protection. If the paint is smooth to the touch that doesn't necessarily mean it still can't benefit from a light claying. Rather than a clay bar, use a light version clay towel, it will make very fast work of the clay job. After the car has...

    Soap Cleaning Power

That sounds like nonsense. As I stated previously, ph neutral car soaps do not have *significant* standalone cleaning power. That is why on a moderately soiled vehicle, if you just sprayed it down with soap (foam gun/foam cannon), let dwell and rinse off, the vehicle would still have bonded...

Of these 5 choices, which ceramic drying aid / topper would you choose?

I'm still using up the last of one my bottles (newer formula). Its good for a little instant gloss and slickness but honestly its never lasted more than 30 days in my environment on two different vehicles parked outside 24-7. Apparently Mother Nature is a lot more brutal to it then these YT...

    Tires turning brown

You were already provided a lot of good suggestions for tire cleaners in your other thread HERE where you also talked about "browning tires" (granted it was for a different reason). Doesn't matter though, a browning tire is a browning tire. My recommendation from your other thread still stands...

Of these 5 choices, which ceramic drying aid / topper would you choose?

I like Megs HCD too. Not as slick as others but its enjoyable to use. A little pricey if you ask me but hopefully there will be a sale again on it this fall so I can pick up a few more bottles. Last year in November, the local Walmart to me had the HCD and the Liquid HCW for FIVE BUCKS each! It...

    Soap Cleaning Power

Soap is soap if its ph neutral. They will all work the same. There is no *significant* standalone cleaning power. That only comes from surface agitation and high pressure water. It isn't until you use a soap that is either more acidic or alkaline where it begins to be strong enough to penetrate...

Of these 5 choices, which ceramic drying aid / topper would you choose?

As far as I know Adams Slick n Slide and Obsessed Garage Drying Aid are the same product as Topper (just different dyes and scents). I'm sure there are many others. I would still use XS Topper if I were you. I really enjoyed using it. Probably at or near the top of my list for best slickness...

Cancoat evo bad experience or not?

I think this is a great recommendation. @Azure since your just reapplying Cancoat over Cancoat, you'll essentially be filling in the weaker voids with new fresh layers. The areas that are stronger will probably just repel itself to an extent. Over time those areas will wear down and you'll do...

Of these 5 choices, which ceramic drying aid / topper would you choose?

I am a strong believer in synergy of product lines, especially when the idea is to maintain and fortify the main protection. That means use toppers/boosters from the same brand. Because they will be the *most compatible chemically* since that's how they were derived in the lab. Your odds are...

    ceramic metal oxide coating

Well its a proprietary formula so you probably won't find much about how its made other than finding its raw materials listed on its MDS sheet. Shouldn't matter how its made or what's inside - as long as the product does what it says that's all that matters. Its a respectable coating. Popular...

Cancoat evo bad experience or not?

Jeff@GyeonUSA has said that Cancoat bonds to the paint instantly as soon it touches the surface. It should not be applied heavy like a standard ceramic coating where you would see a really wet layer because this means your using far too much product. Jeff says that you should "see a bit of a...

    Wolfgang si02 Rinseless Wash

Follow the directions exactly because that is how the wash was designed to work for maximum effectiveness. Adding more product beyond the recommended dilution ratio is just wasteful and changes the behavior of the wash. It doesn't improve lubrication or make it a "safer" wash if you dump way...

Cancoat evo bad experience or not?

Yes, thank you, you are correct. His new Ceramic Spray Coating test is at 3 month mark so far and Cancoat Evo still looks at 100%.

My first "big kid" ceramic coating

Could have just eased into something like Gyeon Cancoat Evo and made things much easier, lol. Simple to apply. Long term durability. And you could still probably charge the same since it a genuine coating.

Cancoat evo bad experience or not?

At 6 months, it wouldn't hurt. I think ScottHD said Cancoat starts losing some of its water behavior at 6 months. I'd have to go back and watch his 5,6,7 month videos to see for sure.

Question about Gyeon Wetcoat on wheels...

I've never had bonding issues with tire dressing after applying these spray-n-rinse products to wheels (currently using Nanoskin Super-Charger). And I'm not even careful when I spray. You could focus your mist to the inner parts of the wheels and less around the edges. You don't need to DOUSE...
