I've been searching for a wheel well dressing, my thoughts...

I'm glad to hear this...I had been wanting to order Chemical Guys Bare Bones for a long time but now I think I'll order some Megs ASD :xyxthumbs:

Are Waxes & Sealants Even Necessary??

So according to this logic, washing isn't necessary either. Claying a vehicle is useless. And polishing, well that's just the completete opposite of what you want to do. I hate to tell you chaps, our whole detailing escapade is over. We had a good run though! The next time a customer...

    Ryobi Buffer

Don't buy. I have used the six inch versions in a previous life :D It did work to get oxidation out of my dad's old truck coupled with some turtle wax rubbing compound, but did little to nothing about scratches or swirls.

    Almost there with m105/205...

It is usually much easier to get a hologram-free finish by polishing with a DA. With a Flex 3401, I doubt you will notice any difference in polishing time by switching from the rotary w/105 to the 3401 w/205. I say, try the 105 with the rotary and the 205 with the 3401. Or heck, try the 3401...

    Use of a quick detailer

:iagree: dust, or fingerprint smudges. Anything more and I use ONR, Meguiars Last Touch, or diluted FK425 :props:

Dad-gum extractors ! Little man cant afford it !!

:iagree: You don't necessarily need an extractor to clean some disgusting carpets. It would obviously be much nicer, and easier, but it's not necessary. Try using the above described method: vacuum, porter cable+carpet attachment+resolve or APC+, then dry it off with some cotton towels or use...

    Meg D 151

As for the second and third questions, I would consider this product very easy to lay down correctly and very easy to work with. It has a much longer working time than, say, M105, but also doesn't have as much cut. Currently, I use a Griot's Garage DA Polisher. :dblthumb2:

Which product are you looking to substitute from their line?

    Lettuce discuss wheel cleaners.

How did I know you would chime in on this? Sonax can also be used as a paint decontamination chemical. It is fantastic for those of us with light-colored vehicles who have problems with rail dust or other metal contamination and works much better, and faster, than clay. I still...

    Meg D 151

Yes, it is what we consider an all-in-one product. It will finish down very nicely and leave a layer of wax also. The cut it has is, in my opinion, is right between M105 and M205.

    Another black Fbody saved ;)

Wow great turnaround! Those scratches were deep!
  12. cobalt9123

    Meg 105/205 then what?

Depending on what pads you use, the last step is not necessarily needed. You can get great finishing results from M205 especially with a hydrotech pad. However, if you really want to make the paint shine and take it to the next level, you can use Menzerna P085rd. It is a great finishing polish...

'68 Charger - Full sand and polish

Fantastic work! I, too, spent my spring break working so I know how you feel!

    Lettuce discuss wheel cleaners.

No problem. Here shortly I believe I'll do a review on Sonax vs APC+ vs Super Degreaser just sprayed on the wheel with some dwell time and then a rinse to see which was more effective. My dad never washes his truck or his wheels so his brake-dusty grime covered front wheels will make perfect...

    Lettuce discuss wheel cleaners.

There are a lot of variables to consider there depending on how you wash your wheels and whether you do it for business or pleasure. Sonax, is a much different cleaner than most of the cookie-cutter wheel cleaners on the market. I'll tell you the story about the FIRST time I used Sonax: I did...

Are Waxes & Sealants Even Necessary??

There's definitely great stuff on Autopia, but it also has its shortfalls. I reckon you could say that about all sites, but I'm biased. I was banned for no apparent reason there and moderators would never contact me back about it

    Best System

How about you let us know which products you're interested in? I know we can definitely recommend some cheap and user friendly detailing products for you that might not all be from one line. Although, you're not likely to find anything in the Autogeek store that won't work great :D

Great job. Always nice to see what a wash and clay can do for people :) Unless you're using OPC, right? :D
