How to Speed up production detailing?

If the dealer justs wants a production detail, give em exactly that and just use the 360. I would not include any paint correction unless they pay extra for that service, too much lost time if they aren't paying.

    Mercedes gets eyesight restored

I've used it once, and it did really well. However, from studying threads and hitting a Detail school, I can see that you need to have a sanding plan ready to launch if Diamondite isn't able to do the job. The procedures look exactly the same as doing wetsanding paint, start with as light a...

    Ultimate compound

You can eyeball it after you use the UC and see what you think, go straight to the polish if you see some areas that can look better. Ultimate Compund finishes nice on it's own, it's a really great product.

    Chrome Wheel Polishing

I think I already know the answer to this but would feel better if I heard from others here. I have a potential customer that has Chrome wheels on his pickup. He has had detailers in the past polish them as part of the standard detail price, they did not charge extra for this service. I (and...

Magna Shine Nano tech Towel scratches?

Need some thoughts from the forum. I recently bought the original version of the paint correction towel that replaces the claybar. I was told that it is a little harsh out of the gates and to use it on car windows first to break it in. I did that and it still scratched my son's clearcoat.Tried...

    Urine removal on carpet

Quick question for experienced guys, there seems to be two schools of thought on this. For Urine removal, spray enzymes on surface, inject with a needle to have enzymes working underneath, enzymes eat urine and die off. The other is to spray enzymes and let dwell for 20 minutes, then use an...

    Mytee Lite II 8070 Upgraded

I'm still waiting for a reply too. Maybe AG can try for us, I saw the spec that Setec mentioned, they recommend a 20 amp. breaker for it, but the actual lift spec should not be hard for them to confirm.

    Mytee Lite II 8070 Upgraded

Hey Bobby and Setec, I saw the same thing, the Rep at Mytee did not actually say the lift power when she replied.I'll email her to see if I can pin it down. I can say this though, we used an 85 in. lift machine at the school and it was respectable. But in testing mine yesterday, it had enough...

    Mytee Lite II 8070 Upgraded

I hear ya Scrace, I would think this would be put out right away by Mytee. I was ready to get the Aztec, but I really liked that the Mytee had a little larger capacity, but in the end, I don't want to have to go back over what I did with the wet vac. I emailed my serial # to Mytee's Customer...

    Mytee Lite II 8070 Upgraded

Just purchased a Mytee Lite II extractor and it performed great. Mytee changed out the motors and it now has the same lift power as the Aztec, 102in. I hadn't seen this anywhere and only learned about it at an auto Detail school in Pittsburgh. Mytee's packaging still lists the old specs, but...

What to use on running boards Steps?

As an experiment on my Tahoe's Black running boards, I had some Turtle wax "Black Box" leftover and tried it. (I cleaned with APC first)It wasn't slippery and the Black pigment actually held up for 3-4 months, I touch up with some Meg's Pink Detail spray to revive it if I'm too busy to reapply.

Old school waxes...pics and stories, this should bring back memories!

Wow, I didn't notice this thread until today...what a flashback. These were the days when Simonize was the serious compound for paint, some shops would advertise "Simonize treatments here". These days I don't even know if they are in business. It would be like "Mother's" fading into the...

New Mytee Products Now Available @ Autogeek!

Nice digging Setec, some of my first thoughts too. I was about to buy an Aztec extractor after inc.tax return but I need to look at both of these as steamers seem to have their merit on the job too. I have to look at how much lift the new extractor has.

If you want to make money in this business you must read Renny Doyle's book.

I'll take a stab at it Mike," don't perform a Show Car detail for someone who just wants a production level detail". Renny had shared a story about a minivan he did this for and the Soccer mom had driven it through a field or something and wasted his efforts. You keep reiterating that point and...

Big Bad Hemi, old school 426 with a Superior Shine!!

Joe, Nice work! What was your plan of attack as far as products on the Black car? Did you actually use 105 on entire panels to get rid of those scratches? It turned out really nice, I'm guessing two guys/8hrs. to accomplish that work.

Look at what I found at Wally World!

Our local Walmart surprised me the other week too. They had Meg's "Ultimate Wax" on the shelf for $19.99...Pep Boys carries it for $22.99. I would never have thought of shopping there for car stuff

    Hi i'm from turkey, ankara

Welcome to AG Kartal2339! I visited Yalova for a couple weeks back in '99 as part of an Earthquake relief team. One of my memories is that Turks love to use the steering wheel horn, and the driving in Istanbul can be treacherous!

Why not 6.5 pads on DA

One thing I liked in Mike's book is the DA buffer comparison. He listed the power of each one, I was surprised that my Meguiar's DA was so 'lightline" next to the Griot's latest and greatest. It will be on a future shopping list someday. The Flex has no trouble turning anything and we...
