    Mark II 15

First batch of MKI have the rounder dime size hole and will not fit the newer Rupes. Later generation of MKI have the identical hole as the current MKII.

Rupes LHR 15 Mark II: What is the best cutting MF pad?

You mentioned Jet black 335i and Black TSX. Both those cars won't need MF pads, unless they are in bad shape. You will get plenty of correction from foam. MF with certain compounds will haze the crap out of soft black. I would go with least aggressive method on a test spot first. But if you...

    Best All Around Polishing Compound?

Depends on what your criteria for "best". Is it cut, finish, easy of removal, long work time, low dusting, body shop safe???

Best Pads for Large Throw Polishers?

All the pads made for big throw work great. Rupes, Meg thin disc, BnS , and LC. The Rupe pads are still my favorite. The Rupes yellow pad just works so well with so many compounds and polishes. It's the most versatile pad I've used. Has plenty of bite, finishes like the Rupes white, and is...

Just received my BOSS G10 (wrong BP?)

Wow! Definitely the wrong BP. If you have a PC style threaded BP, it could work. So long as it clears and spins freely.

    Battle of the Car Soaps

Suds, foam, bubbles, and lubricity are poor indicators of a products cleaning ability.

    Washer mod for Mark 11?

Chad, my point was Rupes intentionally designed it that way and not a flaw in the design. I too have washer mods on all Rupes 15, 21 and have sanded down the shroud on my Mark 2. (Thanks Zach!) Along the lines discussed, it's like many of power saws and impact driver that have a brake to slow...

    Washer mod for Mark 11?

Bad analogy from that detailer. Driving with e brake on can cause premature brake pad and/or failure. The Rupes was intentionally designed that way as a safety feature.

    Story about my new polisher

Great story! Despite all the terrible stories we see and read everyday, there are MANY decent folks in the world! For me, it ALWAYS feels good to give, especially to those that may need it more. AG definitely has lots of "nice" members compared to the many other forums I visit. I mean...

Rupes Mark II , Mark ii NICE!

Yes size of slot is different. Thickness is also different. Weight is identical down to the gram! (Mark I top, Mark II bottom)

Rupes Mark II , Mark ii NICE!

So I got my Mark II the other day and was able to test it on a fender. The Mark II has many small improvements and one big one. 1. The big improvement, definitely has more grunt. Feels different on curve panels because its spinning more. Doesn't have that high pitch whine as the first...

    Quick Review of CarPro Inside!

I'm sure it's a good product, but I'm trying to see how this will sway me away from OPC.

    Carpro Essence user error

I too used HD Polish! Those tick marks on soft dark paint (especially jet black BMW) is a PITA :dblthumb2:

    Carpro Essence user error

I've had great success using Zach's advice, but polishing BMW Jet black with Reflect and a Rupes can be frustrating. It leaves these super tiny tick marks that are very difficult to see. For me it was much easier to clean them up with a rotary.

Attn. Rupes Updated Cyclo in the works?

I don't find it hard to understand at all, the Cyclo is heavier than the Rupes 15, Rupes 21, Flex 3401, Griot DA, Boss 15, Boss 21, Porter Cable DA, and just about all electric DA polishers—I'd say it's not only a perception that it the Cyclo is heavier, it's a fact.

Flex L3403 or PE14 for gelcoat

The Flex 3403 will get smoking hot if you plan on long use. The PE-14 would be the better choice, but even then I would use a full size Makita or Dewalt if you plan on polishing any sizable boat.

    Coating Durability?

I don't think Essence would be an exception for "all" the coatings in the market place, but all coatings, without exception could benefit from a surgical clean paint surface that is free from oils and fillers. Chris Thomas's statement is great advice considering the plethora of coatings available.

How deep can a Scratch be do buff out?

Here's some good material. I've done it twice and it works fantastic. Important thing is waiting for the paint coats to dry completely before sanding. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/43535-key-repair-step-step-procedure.html...
