Took my wheels to the local tire shop

This happened to me when I dropped my 93 Cobra off to have BFG's put on. I asked up front if I could have an experienced tech to install the tires without scratching the wheels, he said "no problem". I get a call a few hours later saying that they didn't have the correct machinery to install low...

Watch out for dealer cover ups.

I was a Buyer for Carmax from '97-03. We didn't purchase junk then. Maybe things have changed a bit. Cars would get detailed and then they'd go to the interior guys if stains were still visible. Interior techs would fix burn holes/rips/dye carpets or trim. The detailers were paid around $27 per...

1987 GNX, Paint Correction and Americoat Application

Nice. I buffed out a GNX around 1999. It was a driver with all original lacquer paint. I own a black T-type that I purchased in 1994 that's sporting a new paint job. Currently doing the wet sand and buffing.

What did i do!!!?? sanding accident

Can you take a better picture explaining where the trim would go? If the trim covers the blemish then I'd cover it. Having a mobile guy spot blend won't look that great and will cause problems in the future. Like seeing blend lines and or the clear failing in time. Looks like a champagne or...

What did i do!!!?? sanding accident

Was the car new on the lot or transferred from another dealer? I see new transferred cars that sometimes have evidence of previous work. Therefore if that spot had been worked on before then you would have half the clear coat left.

Fixing rusted paint chip A-pillar, advice needed

I'd test each paint you have and choose the best color and metallic match. Test it on top if the primer because the primer will affect the outcome of the color. When you find a match then I'd fill a little at a time. Paint shrinks quite a bit after it dries and hardens. I would also clean the...

Low water pressure. Need your advice!

We just replaced the pressure regulator in our 12 year old house and it brought back some nice pressure. Feels like it easily doubled. Might be worth looking at it.

Need suggestions on removing these spots (tar or tree sap)

You live in the South? Here in Ga I see those quite often. They come off of a certain tree I believe. The top comes off easy but you have to use a solvent and plastic razor blade/finger nail to remove the rest.

    Wipe on clear coat

It's not a sealer. It's like mop and glow type stuff. A guy did a demo for me on a panel and actually turned out pretty good. PrestoPro, Vivilon and Black Diamond Clear are a few companies that sell wipe on clear.

    Wipe on clear coat

I've done a search but come up empty handed. I'm sure it's been talked about. Who has used them and how has it worked for you? Thanks

    rusted rock chips

I purchased a small metal die grinder cutting bit from Home Depot. I use it with my drill to clean out the rust. It takes a little practice but it works really well. I used the fiberglass pen for a while but it's really clumsy compared to the bit. You are able to clean and remove all the rust...

Swirl removing has left a nasty Spot!!

I would get a few more opinions from other body shops. I think you could just have the hood blown.

Swirl removing has left a nasty Spot!!

Like already stated, take it to a good body shop and have them look over the entire car for paintwork or body repairs. They'll be able to spot frame or core support repair. If you live near a Carmax, the Buyers could appraise the car for free and give you a great idea of what's been repaired if...
