Tar removal - Citrol or Tarminator

I've seen it in gallons and even 5gl bucket (from one vendor)

Tar removal - Citrol or Tarminator

Citrol is somewhat more effective and takes less time/effort but its' also way more expensive at around $60/gallon (do they even make something larger) so it may not be worth it to you.

Ultimate compound doing nothing for me

might also want to consider a microfibre pad and Meg's D300

I know nothing about lighting. Are these bulbs worth it?

I don’t see indication that the OP has T8/T12 style fixtures, just the 2 standard ceramic lamp holders for Edison base bulbs.

    Wash/Decon/Polish steps/products?

upwards of 6 or so depending on truck size. You don’t want to over-work the pads with accumulated product and have to stop and clean/dry them. Figure 1 for the hood and 2-3 per side of the truck. In the end, they're cheap. I know Mike Phillips did an article or so on this topic.

Ultimate compound doing nothing for me

Did you mark the backplate w/ a Sharpie to make *sure* it's actually rotating?

I know nothing about lighting. Are these bulbs worth it?

Cant speak to those specific bulbs/lamps but my garage has the same cr@ppy setup as you (and most everyone) w/ 2 lamp holders on the ceiling. I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M197LKK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Which are a bit 'warmer' in color (at 3000K...

Karcher k3 off a portable car inverter.

My hunch (!!!) is that neither will do particularly well. The car battery doesn't like deep discharge and using it that way (and maybe a polisher or two?) will surprise you when it can't turn over the car. The battery powered PW's dont generally much 'umpf'. IMO, you'd be better off w/ a...

What to do with very old car for harsh outdoor winter?

I re-purpose the kitchen vacuum sealer to seal the cans. Don’t forget things for the car and your own safety like blankets, emergency food, folding shovel, etc. +1 on 476S. Awesome stuff.

Spray On Sealants for keeping auto protected in Maine winters

if the bays allow you to attach your own detergent tank, then Carpro makes a version that is truly all-in-one. Wash and apply at the same time, no separate rinse, spray/apply, rinse. I think it's called 'Carpro Foam' but not sure. >> I'm sure an email to the product's mfgr re: application in...

Getting old sealant off to prep for vinyl wrap

There is also P21S paintwork cleanser and 4Star paintwork cleanser. IMO, you might want to use something w/ a bit more 'umpf' like Menzerna 3500 or 3800 or something in the Sonax line like Perfect Finish or Nano. The paint cleansers really do not have much bite. Google -> auto polish...

Spray On Sealants for keeping auto protected in Maine winters

I use Carpro Hydro2 (the concentrate) at 1:9 ratio and it works very well. Basically the same as the others you mention. Costwise, the concentrates are MUCH better values (but that's true of all this car care stuff).

Can you top WDGPS 3.0 with WG Deep Gloss Liquid Seal?

off topic (sorta): How long should you wait for the WDGPS to fully setup/crosslink before topping?

When to tape-off and other Q's

Hi All, Almost time to put the nice car away for the season, esp. since I'll have to have rotator cuff surgery soon-ish. I'd like to do the car beforehand. The car body panels are plastic/resin and there is quite a bit of PPF on it. I dont think it's ever been properly polished out or even...

New Paint Job - How to Polish?

with the older GG6 buffer, you could simply install a 3" backplate. Not sure if the new G9 allows that. Having a 3" (or less) comes in very handy!

How many oz of UWW+ per car (in average)?

that's a very high price for UWWW at their standard dilution. Buy it by the gallon and you get 42gl of working solution at < $2/gl

    Exterior Plastics Detailer/Protection

Has there been a 'bake off' between the various exterior trim sealant products? I'm sort of a fan of WETS esp after the last BOGO sale.

    3" vs 4" Griot's Pads

The 4" size is somewhat 'uncommon' and honestly, there isn't enough difference (IMO) between that and the 5". I'd go w/ the 3" (*and* maybe the 2" or 1" backing plate and pads for really tight spots or compound curves lest you burn off the clear coat on edges or peaks). In fact, I ended up w/...

    Electric Pressure Washer

A very popular one is the SunJoe 3000 (or the 3001 w/ reel). They use European connectors (14mm internal) which forces use of adaptors or SunJoe parts. Can't speak to other manufacturers
