First of all :welcome: I'm not sure that I would try to learn on your car. The best bet is to see if you can pick up a body part at local junk yard and practice on that first. This way if you make a mistake it doesn't really matter.

Very sound advice indeed. That's a lot of miles for a car, any car, be careful, some parts have a limited life span, you may wind up spending tons of money on upkeep in the future. Get the service records to see what components have been replaced
You're going to have to re-do. Like jamesboyy said, do a test area, when you get the desired results then work small areas (2x2).
