Sometimes it’s not about being perfect.

Thanks guys. My lesson during this process was dealing with the clear coat failure. I have never dealt with that before. It made me realize that for what they paid for they car they were not going to pay to get it resprayed. So I tried to simply make it less noticeable. The roof and trunk...

Sometimes it’s not about being perfect.

Not a professional detailer, just a weekend warrior. But I enjoy detailing and everyone I know comes to me about taking care of their cars because my always look good. I had a friend come to me who has twins but didn’t have a ton of money to spend on a car for his kids. At the last minute he...

Help me find a replacement for BSD

So this video is in German. But he is talking about dilution rates of BSD and water. He tries multiple different rates. Bottom line the 1:1 ratio BSD and water still retains the optimal water behavior while easing the application. If someone speaks German maybe they can provide more insight...

Sonax polymer net shield vs collinite 845 for winter ??

That’s it. Makes applying wax and sealants as easy as I have found. I do that a lot of times instead of using a DA anymore. Sent from my iPhone using AGOnline

Sonax polymer net shield vs collinite 845 for winter ??

I use a Lake country hydro red pad attached to a nanoskin velcro strap handle to apply. Make it as easy as possible to apply PNS as I have found. The hydro pad is closed cell so you are not just waisting product and the handle makes is very comfortable. The buffing off will always be a little...

DG AW vs. UQW Showdown (as toppers)

I love DGAW. Not the most hydrophobic products but still one of the best in my eyes. If you like AW you can also try DG931 to maintain it. Also a great product. Sent from my iPhone using AGOnline

Help me find a replacement for BSD

Diluting BSD is well worth it. Easy application and you still get same results. Dilute it 50/50. There is a German video who does the test of dilution ratios. He found 50/50 works the best. Sent from my iPhone using AGOnline

    Longest lasting slickness LSP?

Sorry for the delay. I don’t use the 3oz. I use only 2oz. Per 16oz. It’s my go to product. Sent from my iPhone using AGOnline

Duragloss RW w/Aquawax vs Clean & Shine w/aquawax

I use DG932 as a QD and as a rinseless. The key is not to use the recommended 3oz. for the QD. I use only 2oz. per 16oz. No streaking. There is a bunch on this site about the dilution ratios for 932. Some use even less than 2oz. Some use 10:1 ratio. I also think it let longer than regular...

    Longest lasting slickness LSP?

I’m still a fan of DG 111 topped with either 951 or my favorite the 931 rinseless wash at QD strength. That will get you the slickness you are looking for. Sent from my iPhone using AGOnline

Sealant product recommendation: Looking for durability, longevity, hydrophobic properties, appearance, and ease of application

Any of Sonax PNS, FK1000p, or DG111 would be my choices. These are listed in order of high hydrophobic properties to least. I enjoy DG111 simply because I am Always putting a topper spray on the car. It’s ease of use is great. If you are not topping you can just put PNS or FK. Both of them...

Nano Shock vs. Aquawax, DG 931, MG D156?

I’m with DLC on this one. I have come full circle back to Duragloss products. Just did a spring cleanup with DG501 with DG111. For an easy care process you can just use DG101 or 501 and maintain with Aquawax on occasion. Or use my favorite to maintain which is DG931. Both to wash and as a...

Renny Doyle Beadmaker Revisited - 2month Standalone Review

Eldo, Good review. I think it depends on criteria when determining something’s longevity. Environment also plays a role. I think when most people talk about the durability of a product it is in terms of how long the beading performance/ self cleaning ability lasts. While I live in NC I did...

    Sealant comparison

Thanks again for all you do Rippy!! You got me on the DG931 bandwagon and I have never looked back. Not only does it last longer that it should but I think it has better hydrophobicity than regular Aquawax. Keep testing it!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Homemade Hybrid Ceramic Wax.

So I was bored this weekend while cleaning my wife’s van. I saw the McGuire’s Hybrid Ceramic that has come out but haven’t gotten the chance to try it. So I made my own. I took 2oz. of Duragloss 932 Rinseless and mixed in 1oz. Carpro reload with 16oz of distilled water. I absolutely love...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

So I planned on doing a full spring detail. Was going to use Sonax perfect finish to polish and then seal. But when I stripped it with a good strong citrus wash I decided on a different route. I have been using Sonax Speed Protect for some time now. I’m starting to swear by the stuff for a...

    Recommendations For Glossiest Spray Wax

I actually like DG 931 at QD strength better than Aquawax. Seems to have better durability than even straight Aquawax and cheap as hell. But right now I’m in the Beadmaker train. Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

    Bead Maker?

Yeah. I use DG 931 @ 8:1 ratio for QD and like it. Never tried the 10:1. I will have to mix a bottle at that strength to test. Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app
