Agreed - Use a dedicated MF detergent - and Pads are fine in the washer. Use only Warm Water at best - and no dryer - air dry only.

Electric ones do that as well - I had one fly off once - and from then on, after swapping tips or first use - I always point the gun in safe direction and test it first. Makes a crazy sound and definitely has some velocity - so worth a little extra caution to be safe and test first.

I would just contact MTM - get a quick connect adapter setup - they are well versed in the needed quick connections for both hose and PW ends.... Not only a solution to the problem it's nice to quickly disconnect the hose for coiling / storage.

I run mine with a 3/8" 50' MTM Kobrajet hose with no issues - so don't think that would be an issue.

There's an Entire thread on the Sunjoe SPX3000 - and it details all kinds of options for fittings and conversion to better hoses & parts like guns - so not an issue these days for fittings and upgrades.

I've had good luck with spraying Silicone Dry Lube on Paper towel and wiping it onto the seals.... But basically putting anything that repels water on there should help.

I use the Cobra 3/8" on my Sunjoe 3000 - which is only ~1800 PSI - ZERO Issues - actually helps with flow. MTM Cobra Hose I actually replaced everything from the hose connection out with MTM Parts - much better than any manufacturer parts... MTM makes full kits now if you want an easy option...
