I didn't, this car took A LOT of time and I neglected some of the smaller details to focus on the overall. Like the updated picture shows though the owner couldn't care less and it's just a hobby for me BUT in the past I've just used a applicator pad with some polish on it by hand.

If your slinging wax you probably used too much as well man but if its just wax you shouldn't bother honestly if its only a feel thing I wouldn't even mess with it. If its that bothersome you could try a quick detailer to wipe it down see if that helps otherwise you could strip the wax off with...
