16" x 16" is 0.165 sq m at 1120 gsm, which would be 185g/towel or 370g for 2. The M22 is 0.258 sq m at 2200 gsm which is 568g/towel. So it is more towel.
Maybe just me and no one else. I think it's a good size (slightly bigger than the 16x16 Griot's PFMs) but not that much bigger that dragging it on the ground is much more of a concern and it's edgeless.
Where are they being stored? In clear containers that are seeing sunlight? If they're seeing UV, that could contribute to fibers breaking down over time.
You can flip them over to use the other side but they're pretty thin so you basically have to use the other side of an unused section. Liquid soaks thru them.

The way to tell touchless v1 and v2 is the instructions for v2 will call out 2% dilution, v1 is 4%. v2 is also more of an amber color, v1 is practically clear.
you can use 2-5% for v1 and 0.5-2% for v2.
