Sign-up - Honda Extreme Makeover with Duragloss!

Cant wait to see your opinion of the MF pads and DG. I have yet to take theMF pad plunge and use plenty of DG products so this has a real interest for me.

    Opinions on car wash products

Of the two listed I prefer DG just based on cost, However I have switched up to CG Maxi Suds II asI can get a gallon of it for $13. I personally do not see the need for really expensive car shampoos if you wash correctly and I like the gloss to come from the polishing/LCP not the shampoo but's...

    Considering dg501 for dd

Yes 501 has protection qualities built in the product. Use on boats/jet skis as a sealant. To the OP, great choice for a DD. How long it lasts depends on where you live, how the vehicle is stored etc.. To me in Southern California, my white truck gets DG501 one coat followed by Collonite 845...

What is the annual income for an auto repair business?

Not to add fuel to an already smoldering fire but the events that strike me the oddest is he just got his license, car needs injectors cleaned, car needs brakes, wants to start an auto repair business but has a combined income of 120K. Quite an aromatic bunch of posts if you ask me. To the...

Will clay remove Pine tree sap?

Has anyone ever tried a mixture of baking soda and water to dissolve tree sap? I've used this on gel coat before on particularly gunked up muck( dried on mud mixed with oil) but a car's paint is a whole other animal. Mike any thoughts on that??

    Jet Ski - Gel Coat

If they're acid washing for water spots, especially fresh water, that's bad. Like I said in my previous post, seen this done to 100' open water yachts to get them prepped for the season or a new owner. Nasty nasty work. Helped my buddy about 8 years ago, after I got divorced took about 9 months...

    Jet Ski - Gel Coat

Acid Wash is used on colored Gel coat boats, most common product is one called FSR(Can't remember who makes it). Lots of places won't do this unless they have a recovery system for the water. Basically you spray the cleaner, let it dwell and then scrub off the stains, you'll need gloves and eye...

Iron X with every detail or no??

To MinnBobber: Even if a car has not been on a dealer lot long, the process of staging in the manufacturers lot and delivery(trucking or rail) will leave lots of deposits. Basically if you have not decontaminated yourself then do it. As far as wheels go, yes and no. It really depends on...

    Did I get scammed?

Used to use PayPal a lot, not so much anymore due to issues outside of the topic on hand. Couple of points since I've been thru this as a seller/business using them: They freeze both registgered accounts, yours and his, once the dispute is filed. They do have a time frame you need to be...

    looking for the one go-to-wax

Of what you already own either of the Collinite products, I personally use 845 as it's alot easier to machine apply. I'd buy either some OCW or DG Aqua Wax to augment, I personally use the DG. I'd also try machine applying the waxes, for one thing you will get very thin, even coverage and...

    I hate downtown Chicago!

Required in Cali, I don't have one, haven't since 2000. One ticket and it was a fix it ticket no fine. Wonder why not a fix it in Ill? In LA parking enforcement writes these all the time if parked on city streets, when there I park in off street.underground parking. Been lucky I guess. On...

    Suds and Duds

What I do, not that it's right, is I alternate. I'll use a free detergent a couple of times then a dedicated MF detergent. If I use the free type I always add vinegar and set the washer on extra rinse cycle, same as I do if I use bleach in the wash for whites, Never had a smell, no one in my...

Before I answer the question let me say this, I'm on @6 car forums regularly and the people on AG are some of the most insightful and honest you'll ever meet in cyber space. Hats off to each and every one of you. I'm 54, I was married for 21 years with 2 kids, should have got divorced after...

    Flooding show and shine....

See alot of that here in SoCal, especially high dollar boats in the salt water. We leave our jet skis out on ride up ramps at our river house, only when we're there. Tidal surge bangs stuff around a lot. Hopefully no one had anything of value stored in those deck boxes, sucks losing stuff...

    Tried Aquawax today. :)

I've used both OCW and AW. I prefer the AW for slickness and looks. The OCW I had to be fair was an older version and had some streaking issues. I also like the fact that I can use the AW after I blow 90% of the water off the car and then mist around with it. Never tried 360 so no comparison...

Anyone know the active ingredient in Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss?

Absolutely. I'd go even further and say anywhere where you are using chemicals in a licensed and insured business you would need one if you'd like to keep your licenses and insurance. We have them on almost every wall in the plants at work, unfortunately the plant workers uses them for paper...

Anyone know the active ingredient in Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss?

Easiest to just call them. The folks at CG are very easy to work with, I've been to the main store in IngleWatts and one in Northern San Diego and was always treated very nicely at both.
