    Google Business Comms....Phishing?

Yup, they just never made it that far with me. Didnt ask to make a deposit or any exchanges of financial data. All good, wish google would clean that up.

    Google Business Comms....Phishing?

I was curious if any of the other detailers have had this happened. I opened up my Google business account about 9 months ago and every couple of months I'll get message: 1. Are you a detailing business? and 2. how much for car X. (I have standard package pricing loaded on there for anyone to...

Nu-Old School vs New School? Question for Collinite 845 fans

Personally, I'm a 845 fan, that's on my F150 during Spring Summer and Fall. Now that I'm in New England, I switched to WGDGPS for the winter months, topped with 476S. Everything gets applied with my polisher and wipes off easy. The little labor to protection ratio for me is too efficient not to use.

    Iron Remover not enough?

I just finished a white Audi A-6 last night which was contaminated with a lot of iron from the brake pads. I made 2 trips around the car with Megiuars spray clay which has worked great for me in the past, but this time it really didn't touch the rust/orange spots. I upped things by using a...

    3D Speed for Merc Paint?

Hi Guys, I have a E400 Merc coming in the first week of April and the last one I touched was in 2005 and had diamond-hard paint. The owner wants a one step and was curious if you found any of the current one-steps lacking on ultra hard paint? I'm thinking about hitting it with 3D Speed but if...

Ever polished just one section of car?

I polished the tailgate of a Contractors work truck at my house last fall. Pretty hunters green paint. It had some spots that look like they removed badging with a brillo pad. With some Menz 400 and 3500, Collonite 476 and about 20 minutes miracle completed. Too bad I didn't get any follow on work.

Electric Pressure washer GFI Plug dead

I have a Royobi electric pressure washer for 2 years, it looks like the GFI plug is dead. Does anyone make a replacement unit I can pop on there or are they so amp/watt specific that a generic GFI plug wouldn't work with my unit?

    CQuartz UK Questions

FWIW, I installed CQUK3.0 back in August on the wifes Sienna. Reload is not impressive after you drive the car 5 feet. Since then did some research on boosters vs SIO2 toppers. I pulled the trigger on BF Sio2 sealant as a topper to protect from the New Hampshire winter roads. That might give...

    Newbie’ish / 2018 Black Silverado 2500 High Country Swirls.

But ditching the microfiber might help him ditch the micromarring.

    Newbie’ish / 2018 Black Silverado 2500 High Country Swirls.

I wouldn't go D300 and microfiber. I'd go white lake city with Menz 2500 and step it up to orange if you needed to. That would about get you to a 1 step. Hit it with menz 3500 if you needed to. Microfiber has its place but might not be the right pick for a newer dark GM paint.

    Show Car Wax/Sealant

IMO it does improve depth. For a show car I would. Daily driver no.

    Show Car Wax/Sealant

#3. It’s gonna attract dust…. #2. Is your winner. Btw I had to make a decision about a month ago, wdgps topped with 476 for the New Hampshire winter and deal with the static or stick with 3 layers of the wgdgps and I opted for that given the results of the wolfgang so far.

    Show Car Wax/Sealant

My 2cents. I think you will find the Collonite line attracts dust. WGDGPS does not when first applied. If its a garage queen, I still would go 915. Dust is easy to get off and worth the cost of admission for the finished look of a car wearing 915.

    Paint protection advice

Blast around the car with a paint sealant or collonite 845. Speedy and great protection. I have no experience with the 3-1 but everyone loves that too. Another great option

Anyone still use old school combos?

My go-to production detailing wax is Collonite 845 and 915 upon request. I used 915 in 2002 when I was in college, i guess that counts as old school. Im a firm believer, if you want depth wax is the way to go. (even though I love me some Wolfgang PS)

Working on panels that need to be repainted

I had a client come in last week for a interior detail only on a 2020 Toyota Camry, Midnight blue fully loaded. During drop off she approached me about removing some "minor' scratches on her hood. The minor scratches were not minor, they were caused by snow removal with a garden rake....yup not...

    Compound selection after 2000 grit

Summer of 02 I was working for a Nissan Dealership and the GM found out I knew how to cut and buff. I mistakenly showed him my work and then next week I had 2 trucks of damaged paint vehicles from the auction and spent the rest of the summer polishing cars in Annapolis heat with no AC. ACA 500...
