    Is layering opti-coat worth it?

Thanks for your response, Richy! You seem to have a lot of real world experience with OC/OG so I appreciate this feedback. While on the topic of Opti-Coat, how easily removed is this coating with polishing? You're bound to get a few swirls here and there in the coating, so do you approach...

    Is layering opti-coat worth it?

I can be simple minded at times, but, think of all those little scratches and RIDS that penetrate into the clear coat, even with a couple layers of wax/sealant. Now think about those scratches that went a little bit deeper, to the point where you didn't feel comfortable polishing them out...

    Drying MF towels your thoughts??

I'm just a small timer, so I don't have enough towels to set aside until I have a full load. This may be a bannable offense on this forum, but I wash all of my microfiber towels together. Yep, rinseless MF towels, drying MF towels, polishing MF towels, wax MF towels, sealant MF towels, glass...

Using Rinseless / ONR in Cold Weather

I think most liquid products are somewhat temperature dependant. With glass cleaning, I find that I have to buff longer in colder temps than I do in the warmer weather where the glass cleaner flashes quickly. I do everything inside of my garage, though. While it isn't heated, it does stay at...

AG foam gun vs foam cannon...my experience

Did you make this video? I have a question for you. At the beginning, it says a 50/50 mixture of soap/water is used at 1oz - 2oz/gallon. This isn't registering with me. 50/50 tells me 1oz. soap to 1oz. water, which would get very expensive, very fast. 1oz. soap to 1gal. water would be...

Help with pricing out a detail

I agree with a lot of what has been said. F350s are huge trucks. I don't detail for a living, and only do it on the side, but I wouldn't consider myself totally inefficient. I had 11 hours into a Nissan Armada a few weeks ago, doing what I assume you'd be doing with the F350. I washed, clay...

    Pad cleaning

I've never used a dedicated pad cleaner. I soak my pads in a sink/bucket of hot water with an unmeasured amount of Dawn dish soap. Let them soak overnight, then rinse them while squeezing out the product with my fingers. Dry them face down on a grit guard and they're as good as new.

As much as I'd like to take you up on this offer, I think there are more deserving people on this forum. I did want to recognize you, though, for such a generous offer!

    Mercedes CL 500 '10 - Paint correction

I can't tell which is better, your detailing or your photography. Either way, I give them both an A+!! Great job!

The Boss is Here - Menzerna FG-400 Has Arrived!

I'd be interested to see how this stacks up to M101, which is just now being introduced to the American market. They're both heavy compounds, can be used with any machine, and are said to finish down nicely. This is getting interesting.

Washing your car in your driveway a new crime!

Illegal to have a dirty car, yet illegal to do anything about it. We need more people in prison for non-violent crimes!! Yay for Liberty!! EDIT: vet, I take it you're a veteran? Are these the freedoms you fought for?

Washing your car in your driveway a new crime!

Funny you mention toilet flushes. Here's something relevant to that, and what I've been briefly mentioning in this thread. Never Yet Melted Rand Paul Takes on Federal Regulation of Toilets

Washing your car in your driveway a new crime!

Sorry bud, but just the fact that anyone, even the government, wants to dictate what type of hose sprayer you can use, and goes so far as to pass a law about it, just goes to show how far gone these people are from reality. You may think it's petty, "hey, it's only a hose, what's the big deal"...

Washing your car in your driveway a new crime!

Now to turn this into a political thread, but how about instead of accepting these new laws, WE AS A PEOPLE stand up to these clowns in Congress and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! My goodness people, THE GOVERNMENT serves US! Not the other way around!! Wake up, people! Good grief, only a...

    How bad is my paint?

This may sound like a dumb question, but is the car actually clean in these pictures? It looks dirty, so I'm having a hard time differentiating the dirt from the defects, and exactly what you're seeing in your pictures. Some are more obvious than others. I didn't think the black Mustangs came...

    Frosting thread

All I see are palm trees... That's pretty neat, though. I guess I've never really looked that closely at frosted paint. Then again, I thankfully haven't had to deal with it much for the past 8 years, having a garage. Regardless, that frost should bead up nicely once it melts! :xyxthumbs:
