Not to sound like an a$$, but do your research. This method has been done time and time again by professionals with great results. Not once has it ever been reported that this has happened. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 and I'll never do it again, but reading online, its been a proven method...

Looks like a spot that may have been sanded at one time and not properly polished back out. A machine and compound will knock that out in no time.

Correct. I wanted to attempt to remove the coating if possible, so it would make polishing easier to remove the marring.

Will a quick IPA wipedown remove the coating? I did this 20 minutes after first applying.

Ya'll aren't answering my questions lol. I understand there are other methods and I'll surely use these methods next time. But are none of you surprised? This is a popular way of applying opticoat and to have it turn out like this is crazy! What to do now?
