    Meg's D101 for interiors?

Alex, I haven't tried APC+ but from what I've read (quite a lot) they are very similar but + has some degreaser in it & is low-foaming. I chose APC as I won't be using an extractor with it. The foam lets me see where I'm cleaning (with carpet, etc) & IMO adds some cleaning power for wheels, etc...

Scrub or No Scrub with Foam Cannon HP?

I foam when the car is dry. I find when the car is wet before I foam that the foam tends to run off the car quicker, not dwelling for as long... I then rinse to remove anything possible. Not everything will be removed but most stuff will be at least softened, making it easier & safer to remove...

    Meg's D101 for interiors?

At a suitable concentration it will tackle very tough areas. I use it on my wheels, just recently cleaned my carpet with it & a wet/dry vac (10:1 all over & 4:1 for stains & stubborn dirt) Also cleaned up some vinyl & plastics with excellent results. Very versatile & so damn cheap! The only...

Scrub or No Scrub with Foam Cannon HP?

I foam, let dwell then rinse. After this I do a normal 2BM wash. On occasion when the car will be polished, etc anyway I have foamed, let dwell, rinsed then foamed a section, washed with mitt, rinse car, rinse mitt & repeat. i.e, wash using the foam from the cannon & just a rinse bucket...

    Handling the accidental lowball quote?

IMO there are two ways to approach this & I would judge it by how the vehicle presents when you see it & also by face to face judgement of the customer. You can either stick to your quote & as mentioned by others, if you do a good job & have come in cheaper than he expected, you may gain a...

Soap then water or water then soap?

I do as Dr Pain mentioned, water first then soap. This allows me to accurately measure my water so I don't end up with a bucket full of just suds... Then a blast from the pressure washer (lance in the bucket) creates my suds. If needed I can blast again to maintain suds during the wash. &...

    Hot water pressure washer suggestions

Hot water definitely has more cleaning power than cold, especially when dealing with grease, etc. Try & wash a greasy pot in cold water next time you're doing the dishes... That said I agree that with the right chemicals & technique it's not a necessity for most detailers. Very handy if you...

    Giving up traditional washing?

I prefer traditional washes although I must admit I haven't done many ONR rinseless washes. Not that I don't trust it but the few times I have used it I found it hard to clean my grill area, etc & just had this feeling that there was still dirt lurking in all the body seams, etc. + I had to pull...

    LCD Screen cleaning & Protecting?

Very good point! :dblthumb2: I spray IPA mix onto a MF, clean, then buff with another, dry, MF towel... IPA mix can safely be used at 50% but unless your screen is very dirty (cigarette smoke residue, greasy fingerprints, etc) this is not always needed...

    LCD Screen cleaning & Protecting?

For LCD TV & computer screens I suggest a mix of IPA & distilled water. I generally mix 1:1 but to reduce costs you could probably get away with 3 parts water to 1 part IPA or slightly weaker... Have used this on my reasonably high-end, expensive screens with no damage & it is also recommended...

    Very brown tires help :-(

I would suggest Megs Super Degreaser @ 4:1 & a STIFF brush. First time around you may have to scrub, rinse & repeat a few times until the foam when scrubbing is white not brown. After that if you clean them somewhat regularly you will only need a once-over & could maybe use 10:1...

How Should I Polish For My First Time Ever?

Yes, not to knock your confidence but don't get too carried away with the idea that it's "impossible" to cause damage with the 3401. IMO in the wrong situation almost anything can damage paint. Polishing edges, etc is a good example. The first time I ever polished paint I used a normal DA...
