    Mytee Lite II

I have the same machine and it's great. Will take out a lot without even scrubbing. That being said to ensure I don't have to do 100 passes to get deeper stains out I usually pre-treat the carpets with either OPC 3:1 or Folex and agitate the areas then extract. Also, the extractor will leave...

    Opti-Coat 2.0 on glass

I always apply it to glass except the windshield. Never had an issue with it. I also have had it on my HHR SS windows for a year and half now and it's still perfectly fine.

    OPC for interiors

I have been using opc for about 2 years now. Interior cleaning I use it at 5:1 for most jobs. Heavily soiled interiors I'll use it at 3:1. Works great and really cuts through grime and body oils easily. Plus is safer than a lot of other APCs out there when it comes to leather. For light...

    Back to Black on Avalanche

Carpro DLUX. By far the best product I have used on plastics. Brings them back to a nice matte black finish and lasts.

    Approaching Buildings for Business

Definitely will need proof of insurance. Just be aware a lot of businesses (mainly bigger corporations) will not allow a Detailer, mobile oil changes, etc in their parking lots. Due yo liability and water run off. At least that's how it is around here. Your better off sticking with smaller...

Mobil company .... Van or trailer?

I've been in the market for a used econoline van. I'm only looking to spend about $4k on the van. Not a ton out there is decent shape. May end up attempting to trade in my HHR SS for a newer used van. The transit is steep in price for sure.

    Anyone near Nags Head, NC?

I'm going to be taking a week long vacation in Nags Head, NC on the Outer Banks Oct 27-Nov 3rd. Anyone from the area want to meet up or can suggest anything to do (bars, restaurants, events, etc)? As of right now we will be taking my detailing rig down (the HHR SS), which is not exactly the...

    Anyone done this?

I've been considering adding this as a service as well. I have also thought about the mobile issue and not being able to control the conditions. It can definitely be a PITA. Especially, on windy days. If your in an area that gets high winds often, I would say a garage is a must. I know Eric at...

    what are mobile detailers charging?

I would do some research for your area. Pricing varies drastically depending upon your experience, the market your in, and your quality of work. Call around to local detail shops and mobile detailers. Look at websites, etc. This will give you a decent idea of at least where to start with...

    Megan Your Red Sox Stink

I have to agree the Red Sox are awful this year....I'm a die hard Red Sox fan and this year was an absolute disaster. And I can honestly say I stopped watching them about a month ago. I just couldn't bring myself to watch them fall apart anymore. Hoping that next year is a better year.

    Detail king

I purchased some stuff from them a few years ago. Some cleaning chemicals, tire shine, and polishes. I wasn't really impressed with anything other than the tire shine.

how many of you are no longer using clay?

Flash - you can rinse the towel off. However.....I have found that if the rubber side of the towel is left out in the sun it softens it up a lot. If you dropped it while it was this soft, I highly doubt you could get all the dirt out of it. It's extremely sticky! I actually ruined one by...

    can opti-coat be applied here..

I applied opti-coat to the rubber seals around my windows on my HHR and it didn't last. It's designed for hard surfaces, not so much rubber. I'd suggest something like CarPro Dlux if your looking for long term durability.

how many of you are no longer using clay?

I've been using the speedy prep towel now for about 3-4 months. And I love it! But I also still use clay on heavily soiled vehicles, softer paints, etc. The speedy prep towel does cut your claying time by a lot. On average for a mid size sedan it was taking me around 45 minutes to clay the...
