Groits Garage G9 favorite and Best Combination

I have a G9, and kept the 6" backing plate that came on the machine. It has all the power you need to correct or polish paint with the 6" matching pads. The Boss pads are designed for this machine, so I would recommend using the Griots pads, and keeping it with the 6" plate. With the less...

gripaddict Thanks for the dislikes lol. Grow up and follow the rules of the forum

I wholeheartedly agree with this. His videos are nothing but infomercials, in my humble opinion. I appreciate the fact he has a youtube channel, but we are on this forum to share information, gain knowledge about AG's products, and have a great time just randomly bullshitting. This is a great...

Old Dog Looking For Something New

That's for sure. I'm 70 years old, but still at, just slower. 50 is as good as 30 if you're in good shape. Do 3 complete corrections and sealant in one week. If that doesn't kill your drive, then go for it. It's a complete different ball game when you step up full time from a hobby.

    Scratching or?

I never use new towels without washing them first with a good microfiber wash like 3d towel clean. It may not make a difference, but I feel like they are softer and more absorbing Bill

What am I looking for ? Rotary or orbital or flex?

You can get a smaller rotary backing plate that will fit the HF rotary from here on good ol Autogeek. If glass is all you are using a rotary for, I'd get the flex 3" pe8 rotary. Great little machine, easier to get into tighter spaces. Great for headlights, too. Bill

    Griot's G9 observation...

I have the flex, also. It does do one heckuva job cutting, and finishes great, too. I'm old as dirt, (70) and just find the G9 easier on my old bones. Bill

    Griot's G9 observation...

It does not stall. I will keep it 6". The motor is 1000 watts, the g15 is 900 watts, and can stall Both machines have their place I do sports cars mostly. They have lots of curves, and the g9 is perfect for this Bill

    Griot's G9 observation...

I agree with Mike. My g9, with the 6" plate, cuts great, and doesn't stall. I will keep it 6", and usey gg6 with a 5" plate. This g9 is very strong. Don't make assumptions until you've used it several hours a day It's a good un!

    Washing/Rinsing undercarriage without running water

There is a product called Saltaway that's made for marine use. It rinses salt off surfaces with just a sprayer of any kind. I use it with a 2 gallon sprayer for removing salt off any surface. Try it. My boat is used exclusively in salt water, and it not the trailer have any corrosion. Bill

    Menzerna Powerlock Prep

I have all kinds of machines. Short throws, long throws,(15 and 21) small DA's (3") flex rotary's, cheap rotary's, and the GG6 is still my go to. I have a G9 on the way,I and will keep my 6 with a 5" plate, and keep the 6" on the 9. Long throws are really not a good choice for learning...
