What's your can't-miss approach for salt in carpet?

Yeah, I’ve been in customer cars where you can tell they did the vinegar treatment. Feels like you’d need to follow it with an odor eliminating carpet cleaner, though being mindful to not over-saturate the carpet. PSA: Remember there’s frequently wiring and control modules down there! (Not to...

What's your can't-miss approach for salt in carpet?

As the title says, what's your can't miss method for tackling salt crust and stains in carpet? My new daily has a fair dose of it on the driver's side that I've gotta address. I've heard of diluting vinegar into warm/hot water, what ratio do folks use? I've also heard of pounding the carpet for...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

"It puts the lotion on its leather or it gets the (Ammo Frothe) Hoseless Lift again!"

What did you do today non-detailing related?

You know life is all about them, and what an inconvenience that was for them...

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

That's wild how well it stuck! In the column on the right this one came up: Car Carpet Cleaning! #shorts #automotive - YouTube (Cliffs notes version: Rupes with an off center pad just laying on the carpet) - I love how he's chasing after all the dirt with the vacuum like kids chasing candy...

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I thought you just threw a junk pad on (maybe a discard microfiber one would have good friction to keep it from spinning?) and leaned on the machine (to keep if from polishing your carpets  ). Haven't tried it myself yet.

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I've heard of folks just putting a DA with a junk pad on the carpet and running it to shake it, but hadn't heard of using a massage gun!

Re: Installed some Conti DWS06's on the RedSport Great news! It's like that old saying. "If life gives you lemons, just wait a little bit and you'll be able to burn rubber through 3rd" :dblthumb2:

I'm telling ya man, you've gotta start a YouTube channel where you do videos covering your passions. Figure out a teleprompter and do an episode just like you wrote it up.

034 Motorsport had a sale going so I got the rear sway bar I've been looking at ordered up for my new daily.

what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Visitor - I don’t watch a lot of detailing videos on YouTube (one of those weirdos who’s selective about who gets compensated for my clicks), but watched your two above about the Ryobis. Glad to see the stance on it being a solid unit, I just got the 1800psi/1.2gpm unit to replace my 5ish year...

What product do you use as a drying aid after maintenance washes?

Anyone had a chance to try / done any reading on Hydrate Pro? My only pause with Hydrate was I thought it affected the water behavior of whatever I had on the car at the time; but admittedly I don't think I had a solid foundation on the car at the time, and had too many things I wanted to try...

    A farewell detail

OK, whew - glad we got that all sorted out. Sorry, my poseur comment was generated by and aimed at myself; glad we’re all using it lightheartedly here though. :xyxthumbs:. SNP - that’s exactly the kind of thing I was thinking with the M badges on a non-M (I work mainly on BMW’s so I’ve seen my...

Also already have a set of snow tires for it and another set of wheels. Keeping it simple and sticking with 19's for both; picked up a set of really clean '14 S6 wheels that hardly spent any time on the car (still have the original rubber with usable tread if the age doesn't scare you)...

As mentioned above, probably software at some point (+69 HP and +88 TQ, puts it to 317hp, 363tq). Rear sway bar like I had in the avant (I'll regulate my understeer on my own, thank you. Though gratefully it's not come up as an issue thus far.). Window tint for some extra UV blockage. Was...

    A farewell detail

Since we keep talking about it, here’s a preview of the new shooter - these are from May when I went to his house talk to him about the car (and look at it with eyes towards ownership, not just being the technician servicing it). He was on the hunt for a Q8 for his next car; it wasn’t until the...

    A farewell detail

Yeah, it’s partly just wanting to spend some time in stock form to get a butt-dyno and fuel economy baseline. I’m an APR fan; when I was at the dealership I never had one car with an APR tune have any oddities, which I couldn’t say for other tunes. Had a friend that chipped his 1.8t Passat at...

    A farewell detail

I wish I had as much money as you guys have optimism for my next purchase. Honestly, I’d been planning on a B9 A4 allroad as a replacement, but they’ve been hanging higher in value than I can get myself to justify. Pipe dream would be an A6 allroad, but I think those are definitely...

    A farewell detail

Well, after just shy of 9 years and nearly 200,000 miles on the road together (nearly 300k on the odometer), I’ve decided it’s time to move onto a new daily driver. As is tradition, it was time for one last shine before we part ways. This was a 2 part’r, the interior done Saturday with the...
