    Stripping wheel coating?

So, if I start with a high alkaline cleaner, then Iron-X, then clay, then Eraser, might that be enough. The rims are virtually new so no correction is probably necessary. Do I still need polish? Or am I still missing something?

    Stripping wheel coating?

kudos to your effort and dedication. The NV sounds interesting. I'm hoping a hand polish would be enough to remove what's left after a good cleaning and chemical decon. I have lots of foam hand pads and Carpro Reflect. Your thoughts?

    Stripping wheel coating?

Lots of good food for thought. I guess trying to not make it gobs of work is nice if you can. Without buying a special machine, I could clay and polish by hand, lots of small spaces to work around though. And your APC comment, I read that some of those will strip sealants. Or the Gyeon remove...

    Stripping wheel coating?

So, I saw a video and an article about using diluted Brake Buster, to remove most old coatings; waxes/sealants and mild Sio2 coatings. Video showed water sprayed on a door panel, had lots of beading, then sprayed diluted BB, dwell for 30 seconds, then contact wash and rinse; rinse had almost no...

    Stripping wheel coating?

Sounds like multiple soap purchases. I'll look into the kit. I bought Reflect for the paint correction I have to do, maybe that applied by hand would be enough on the rims?

    Stripping wheel coating?

In reading about stripping soap, high alkaline is mentioned (watched a video also), but a soap like Carpro descale is high acidic, and it says it kinda strips.. What ph do I want? Garage Therapy Decon, high alkaline, was best in a test on a detail site.

    Stripping wheel coating?

The oem wheels haven't rode thru 4 months, as mentioned, only about a month (Nov to Dec.), as they were removed for winter tires. What does "three ph" refer to? Three phase, or a ph level of 3?

    Stripping wheel coating?

The new car we got last November, as part of my before winter detailing, I Iron-X deconned the OEM rims, cleaned with Brakebuster, and then applied one or two (I forget) coats of 303 Spray/Rinse sealant. That was mid November. By mid to late December, the wheel assemblies were removed for...

Need quick help; spring products suggestions

Strange thing is, many on here recommend similar ceramic products for trim, Carpro or Gyeon, and many have used it with success. Are these people dealing with new trim or old? I'm not worried about coatings, but want to use appropriate ones. I may keep the Cerakote for my 2011 CR-V, which...

    Trim coating/protection suggestions/input

Wondering if you went with Cerakote? I bought some for a new 2023 car, but they say it's only for old cars, it could blotch new bumpers/trim.

Just read the directions for Cerakote trim, and some reviews on other forums, and they specifically say don't use on new trim. I made it clear our car was new, wondering if I wasted more money? Cerakote says it can take up to 9 years for trim to outgas. They also said don't use on the black...

    Opinions On Prerinse With ONR

Our new car is a Mazda with Soul red Metallic color. What is the relevance of metallic paint with washing?

    Opinions On Prerinse With ONR

This topic is kinda what I was going to ask closer to spring. I don't want to foam the new car, so my thought was to hose it off first, then pre-spray diluted ONR on the car more as lube before contact; not to loosen dirt. Is that a sound theory? Or will a good soap do the lubing? And...

Need quick help; spring products suggestions

Removing polish with ONR, (how diluted?), would that not leave polymer residue, or would I then dry it all off again with clean towel? I'll check the Klasse literature, and could still use Eraser or alcohol if it says Ok, rather than ONR. Not sure if I'm jewelling or correcting, but I'm gonna...

Need quick help; spring products suggestions

Sorry for the confusion, yes I was planning on using Eraser after polishing, second wash, then the LSP. The white pads are Rupes white waffle for polishing. Will 2 pads not do a whole car? The car was new last November, I clayed it then, that's why I'm polishing this spring, to correct the...

Need quick help; spring products suggestions

Not many replies, so I had to read a lot of stuff. Anyway, here is what I bought: For black trim: Cerakote For wheels: Gtechniq5 (will probably also spray them with the 303 spray/rinse sealer) For new summer tires: Carpro Darkside For correction: Carpro Reflect, SuperFine polish, and a couple...

My online supplier is having a sale for 2 more days. If you saw any of my posts from last fall, we have a new Red Soul Mazda CX-30, Nov. 6th. November: I iron deconned, clayed & but the clay mitt marred the paint, noticeable when the sun shines on it and you view it from an angle. I didn't...

winter wash idea, will it work?

Appreciate all the good insight. I'll shoot for a better than nothing degree of clean. Once a month I'll drive it thru the touchless tunnel, just to have the underspray remove grunge I can't spray; hopefully the Klasse and 303 sealant applied a week ago can hold up to the tunnel soaps. Between...
