'06 VW Passat using Meguiars MF System

Oh of course. I would rinse it then squeeze out as much water as possible then put it on the DA to spin it up. But I won't be doing this anymore due to the previously mentioned risks. Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk

'06 VW Passat using Meguiars MF System

Oh no offense taken. That's actually a very good point. I may just do that instead from now on. I'd rather make my pads last longer. Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk

'06 VW Passat using Meguiars MF System

Haven't seen anything about that. I don't even need a brush when I use D300 and the cutting pad. Just rinsed it out with a jet of water. D301 on the other hand is a bit more difficult to get out since it's an AIO product. I just used the pad conditioning brush AG sells and that worked fine...

    Difficulty with Meg's MF System

Yes it does. A lot of people have had lots of success with these pads and the M105/M205 combo. Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk

    Washing again after polishing.... ?

Yeah I'm going to retract my previous comment on this thread because now that I'm using the Meguiar's MF System I have no issues with dusting or extra compound in between panels so I no longer wash after polishing. I would still recommend a wash after using a polish which dusts a lot though...

'06 VW Passat using Meguiars MF System

With the D300 pad I just set the sprayer on the hose to a jet-type spray and rinsed the pad. I then spun the pad on my PC at speed 4 for a minute or so and then primed my pad with more compound and I was ready to go! The D301 (finishing wax) pad needed a bit more work since it technically is a...

'06 VW Passat using Meguiars MF System

Howdy everyone! This will be my second customer detail so far but my first using the Meguiar's MF System. Unfortunately I once again forgot to start taking pictures before I started doing work so all I have here is from claying onward. I have to say that after using the microfiber pads from the...

    Porter Cable question

Which speed setting are you using on your PC? Anything under 4.5 will require you to use almost no pressure to get the pad to spin.

    Difficulty with Meg's MF System

I've found that D300 is easiest to remove when following Meguiar's instructions. Once your pad is primed use only a small amount of compound each time afterward. I use four small dots usually. When polishing I make 3 passes with a generous amount of pressure with my PC on speed 4.5 making sure...

    Ultima Elastrofoam Cleaning kit

Just used Elastrofoam for the first time yesterday on my buddy's 2006 VW Passat. This stuff works amazingly well! No longer have to sit around and knead clay. Just rinse and you're good to go!

Clay bar sand paper effect ?

Regular clay only removes some wax, not all, and I'd imagine Elastrofoam would remove just as much as normal clay. The bottom side of the Elastrofoam block has a coating on it that feels almost exactly like clay, but contaminants don't get stuck in it! :props:

Clay bar sand paper effect ?

Sounds like someone's anxious! Hahaha. I'd recommend waiting for the ONR to arrive as dish soap is probably not the best option for claying. On a side note I used the Ultima Elastrofoam system today for the first time and I have to say that I personally will never be using an actual piece of...

Clay bar sand paper effect ?

Either the clay is too aggressive or you're not using enough lubricant. What are you using for lubricant?

    Happy Friday Everyone...

It's too bad the 5" kit isn't VIP. I would recommend that over the 6". You can correct faster the smaller the pad. Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using Tapatalk

    Washing again after polishing.... ?

I usually do. Gets any polishing dust off the car and cleans up any polishing oils before putting the LSP on.

So I tried Meguiar's MF system for the first time...

I used the CCS although from what I hear flat is much better so I'll probably be picking up flat pads from now on. That is of course if I ever use a foam pad again. Hahaha!

    Happy Friday Everyone...

Just gave the MF System a quick test on my horribly-scratched running board (EVIL PASSENGERS!) on my DD and all I have to say is BUY THIS KIT NOW! Here's some pics: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/41053-so-i-tried-meguiar-s-mf-system-first-time.html

So I tried Meguiar's MF system for the first time...

I just did my entire car a couple weeks ago with an orange pad and Ultimate Compound so it's in an okay state for now. I live up north so I'll probably give the MF System a try on my DD in the spring after all the scratchy road salt and snow brushes are good and done with for the year. I will...

So I tried Meguiar's MF system for the first time...

...and I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I will never use another foam pad again. The results below took about 5 minutes with almost no pressure using my PC in speed 4.5 (compounding) and speed 4 (finishing). This was my passenger side running board (or whatever you call it) after...
