Jescar Power Lock or Ultra Lock Plus or Menzerna Power Lock

I've heard great things about Jescar's latest Ultra lock. If I didn't prefer ceramic coating, I'd get some for sure.

    Quirky Habits When Detailing

I water my thirstier plants (read: roses) with the water I rinse my MF towels in after they've been soaking in detergent. The water isn't dirty or even that soapy, and I figure it's better than dumping down the pipes or sewer.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I bought a new house 2 months ago, and got lucky in that the garage (near exterior door) there was some plumbing that I could build off of, and an electrical outlet nearby. I got a cheap PW (I just care about getting decent GPM at 900-1000psi), a nice pf22.2 cannon, a really trick Waterdrop...

    Coating recommendation

Not really, maybe a topper might last a week or something. A stronger product like cure or reload might do better, but it's just a band aid until you can polish and coat the car again in my experience. Might have better luck with something like can coat. But for $50, I'd rather just apply a new...

    Smaller Pump Sprayers

I just bought an IK multi 2 pro which is 50oz for $38 after tax (free shipping). Seems like a fair enough deal for one of the best pump sprayers around. I had, previously, bought a $15 harrison garden (typical type of sprayer) one and it just wasn't very good. I doubt anything under $30 or so...

    Coating recommendation

Gyeon Pure Evo. So good. If you care a little less about depth of gloss, and want a little more slickness, water behavior and chemical resistance, MoHS seems to be a touch better.

    WalMart buffing pads...

In my experience, it's best to spend a bit more and go with proven quality. As said above, you can get LC pads for under $10 still, just wait for sale or coupon codes - it's not that hard with venders like Detailedimage who have sales and coupons every week it seems.

Lake Country pads - HDO CCS/SDO CCS vs Regular HDO/SDO?

I like the CSSS (for polishing). Green is my favorite, decent cut for a soft pad, but extremely glassy finish.

    List your coating that failed!

Thanks for that. I've been using Pure, bought 50ml more (I have 3 cars to coat this year), but I wonder if I should get MOHS and put that on the car that is lightest in color or maye the one that's outside the most. I love the look of Pure evo, but it seems like people don't think MOHS gives...

Thanks! Here's the other: It's black, so posting it in the "reflections" thread is a bit of cheating imo :P
