    Leather cleaning

I remember reading an in-depth article about automotive leather conditioning and I believe it said to use a water-based conditioner over oil-based conditioner (I could be off on how they're labeled, but the article basically said there are only a couple "real" automotive leather conditioners)...

Optimum No Rinse as a detailer?

My favorite "slick" QD has been OID. It almost seems to have slight filling properties (hid a few light swirls on me when claying and then went on to give it a touchless dawn bath, revealing the swirls). Plus, it smells like coconuts too IIRC (because lets face it, that's what *really* matters...

    Yet another new CarPro innovation!

Hopefully it works better than the streaky fog-inducing "anti-fog" stuff Rain-X came out with years ago. That stuff was terrrrrrrrrrrible.

Dawn difference to others dish soap

Try rinsing the vehicle, lightly spraying the paint with IPA and then giving it a dawn bath letting it soak as long as you can. I've yet to meet any regular LSP (ie: non-OC/AQ/CQ/etc.) that can't be completely stripped this way. That's assuming your dedicated LSP remover is short on supply :)

Cleaning Meg's DA Microfiber pads - Dried M105

You could soak or I prefer putting them in the washing machine and air drying afterwards. Make sure to use a "free and clear" detergent on no more than warm water to help preserve the microfiber (and adhesive).

Does anyone actually use 6+" pads for correction?

They're mostly for rotaries, I myself very much prefer 5.5" pads on my DA

How to clean Matte Anti-Glare LCD Screens.

The computer screens in the back of the last airplane I worked on called for a lintless cloth and using alcohol. Also I found an older article about making your own LCD screen cleaner for laptop screens with an IPA dilution, which do come in the matte type as well: PowerNotebooks.com - Laptop &...

    All around Dressing / Protectant

Megs Hyper dressing is dilutable (I'm not sure that their ASD is, last time I looked at the jug it didn't have directions to do so). I'd recommend using Hyper Dressing for interior plastics/engine bays/wheel wells and getting UTTG+ for exterior plastic trim. Nothing I've used to date has come...

    ERASER vs. IPA (+ VIDEO)

What about using Dawn to strip oils as opposed to IPA or Eraser? Before I OC2.0'ed my DD I did 105/205 for correction and then gave a few spritz of 25% IPA on each panel before foaming the vehicle with Dawn and had zero beading afterwards. Granted this is not a practical way to check your...

Need a Cost-Effective Dashboard and Tire Protectant

303 for dash protectant and diluted hyper dressing for tires. It's not like the stuff will expire any day soon.

Help save my back - Need tools to prevent bending

The BHB from Griots come from a new supplier nowadays. The older supplier's brushes supposedly had much higher quality and the problems lay with the new brushes.

I've been putting off polishing the trim on my '07 MDX, glad to hear someone has done it with positive results! :)

Products that allows you to work under the Sun

I've enjoyed OID for my drying aid QD. The best product recommendation for working in the sun is a bigger garage or fold up car tent :)

how do you take off wax from a carbon fiber overlay or in general?

Assuming the carbon fiber is clear coated (which it usually is, I have yet to come across any that wasn't), treat it the same way you would regular cleared paint. Dawn wash, IPA mix, or if you prefer name brand specialized products, Griot's has a wax removal solution (I think called surface prep...

    Recommend me a wheel cleaner

Get Megs Wheel Brightener for the tough caked on dirty wheels, other than that just soapy water works just fine. Do yourself a favor and get a wheel well brush (like Mothers) and nothing other than the Daytona Speedmaster brush. This is one of few detailing tools I refuse to work without ever...
