I actually haven't purchased yet but I am leaning towards a flex. It is -12 degrees here in Chicago and the flex only has a 1 year warranty and I wouldn't use it until April so I think I am going to wait unless I find a nice deal on a used one.

When you watch the video's on you tube even the pros have a line of tape going vertically down the hood of the car (over the gap between the hood and fender). If your using a rotary on a car, you should be good enough that you won't burn anything but I guess that is why they use the tape.

when you tape, how do you polish the surface that is underneath the tape (ridges and along seems)?

I agree 100%. Your engine is waterproof. As long as you don't go removing plastic part you can spray away with no worries. I have been cleaning my engines for the last 10 years and ( I don't cover anything) I have had no problems.

I think you should see if the shop can do just add a wax. That should get you through the winter and get the correction done in the spring so you can enjoy it.

When you guys do a IPA wipedown on your paint before you wax what is the concentration you use? Do you put it into a spray bottle and spray the paint like you would a quick detailer?

I am thinking about picking up M105 and some M205 but am also thinking about cutting out a step and going with some Menzerna SIP. What would be the best combo for mostly daily drivers no exotics or show cars (My cars and my families cars)?

typically I clay 1 time per year and wax 2 times per year. I like to use a sealant since they typically last longer. I also use a spray wax (Lucas Slick Mist) after every wash. It only takes 5 mins for the lucas and adds a little more protection.

Blackberry for the last 4 years and no problems. Iphones are nice but way too much hype and to fragile.

I am happy and instead of spending another $75 on products, I would like to see if there are any other alternatives that I should give a shot. I guess it is to experiment.
