    Heavily Soiled Interior Detail Advice!

Thank you all! Folex and scrubbing did the most on the upholstery, then the extractor with the massive carpet attachment did help! On the carpet I used Folex, lots of scrubbing and the Tornado. The Tornado is what really made the difference on the carpet! 8.5 hours on the interior!

    Heavily Soiled Interior Detail Advice!

You'd be surprised how clean I have already gotten it! Oh, and the floor mats, not including the small rear one pictured, came out really nicely!! I'll see what I can do with the hot water extractor that my grandpa has. I wonder if I can buy an upholstery tool somewhere in town.

    Heavily Soiled Interior Detail Advice!

Here is some of what I'm dealing with. Already vacuumed the crap out of the upholstery, the pictures are before, to get as much dirt out as possible. Folex seems to be doing the best job, so I am going to stick with that. I used the tornador some, after spraying and scrubbing, but I'm not sure...

    Heavily Soiled Interior Detail Advice!

I have worked on a Mazda 3 hatchback once and that carpet was impossible to get all of the particles out of! I am going to do my absolute best with what I have. The guy understands that it is not going to be perfect. He is just trying to avoid trading it in. It's his daughters vehicle. I also...

    Heavily Soiled Interior Detail Advice!

I did not take pictures, but I just confirmed a detail job of a Mazda 3 with the worst soiled interior that I have ever seen. I have a Tornador, Folex, 303 Spot clean and brushes. It is a light tan interior, and I did explain that I will not be able to remove everything. With that said, what...

    Learning from Richy

As you may have read already from Richy's "19 year old BMW" show-n-shine post, he had another member on this board come and watch and learn. That member was me, and I had a great time. I have deep clean detailed vehicles for some time now but have yet to have an actual compounding job. Richy's...

    Overworking a job

Now, I'll admit, I was enjoying the weather and never really rushed, but as much as I do, there is no way that it would ever take me close to 4 hours! The wheel wells, wheels and tires took me a little over an hour alone, and I still went back afterwards and touched up some then applied 303!

    Overworking a job

Wow, now that is some money, although I have not had a polish or coating customer. And, I did inspect the vehicle, I am just new to assessing stains and issues and how long they will take. I added another $30 to a two vehicle quote after seeing the carpet on the same person's f-150. Thank you...

    Overworking a job

Lately my detail jobs, no paint correction, have turned into 8 plus hour deals. Yesterday I detailed a Ford Ranger for a total of 10 hours and made $175! It was a gorgeous day, so I enjoyed myself, but there is no reason that it should take me this long and only make this amount of money! Now...

    Do you test wax/sealant longevity?

This question has been on my mind for a while. How many people actually go 2 to 3 months or longer before adding more wax or sealant? I ask this because I have never tried to prove a wax or sealant company's longevity claim, as I always top off the initial wax or sealant job usually within a...

    Tornador question

I just bought a Tornado Black and have a 13 gal 6.7 cfm 3.5 HP compressor. One thing to note, make sure that you have good tight fittings, as a leaky fit causes way too much air loss and the Tornado really suffers.

    Paint correction advertising

I appreciate the advice and guidance. Nothing wrong with being as prepared as possible, though. Roanoke, Va is definitely the south but I am definitely getting out there shortly. Working on a client's car starting tomorrow evening at the shop. Will finish Wednesday, then they are giving me...

    Ah Damit....

I detailed a truck not too long ago and it decided to hail like I have never seen before! Thankfully, it was at my shop so it was already inside. Now, the good part! The winds were so high that debris was everywhere on the road, even after the rain and hail had stopped and dried up some. I...

Wow, if only I could start making a third of that at a time! I will definitely offer demonstrations to people. To some degree the pricing is almost more for us detailers so that we can stay honest and consistent for everyone. Very well said! Every client that I have had have just wanted a nice...
