I've been "a washin' n' waxin' " cars and trucks for over fifty years. I've "overkilled" enough. :D Thanks for the suggestions. Tom

    ONR+Spray Wax?

Just finished washing two white trucks using ONR. Both trucks have a recent coat of Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. The ONR wash job is very slick and glossy. Do I need to apply Ultimate Quick Wax for extra protection. I usually use the Quick Wax after a regular wash. Tom

    Quick Coin-op -- QD/Rinseless Wash Question

For sure I don't use their brushes, but I most frequently do use the soap. I only wash my trucks at the coin-op when they really need it. Right now we have gone through a spat of messy weather and I have not washed either truck for a couple of weeks. No sense in doing so. I have found that...

    Quick Coin-op -- QD/Rinseless Wash Question

Usually I wash my trucks at the coin-op and then drive home to use ONR/QEW to finish up. I might add that I usually use the coin-op's complete cycle -- wash, rinse, spotless rinse. OK. Even using the complete cycle there is scum left on the trucks and before I started using rinseless washes I...

    Coin Op Question

OK, when I use the coin op, I do the complete cycle...prewash the lower panels if the truck is really dirty/salty, followed by a soap wash, rinse and spotless rinse. Then I rewash the whole truck using a rinseless wash (ONR or QEW) either at the car wash or when get home. Typically I use...

    Coin Op Question

Usually I only use the coin op car wash to blast of the big stuff and follow up later with ONR of QEW but today I "sinned". I used the coin op like most "regular" folks... soap, rinse and spotless rinse and then simply wiped my truck dry with very absorbent cotton towels. From what I could...

Re: Need your suggestions - Final steps in a chip repair Finished the touch-up today following Mike's suggestions for the Unigrit Blocks. The touch-up came out almost perfect. (In other words, I can still see a bit of my work using my reading glass when I am in the "right" light :D) A so-so...

    Meguiars waxes and sealants

I have used Meguiar's waxes and sealants almost exclusively or over forty years. I have always been very satisfied with their performance. Every time I tried a "designer" product, I ended up going back to Meguiar's. Their "stuff" works.

Need your suggestions - Final steps in Rock Chip repair

Re: Need your suggestions - Final steps in a chip repair "Rock Hard and Desert Dry"? If you really want to be sure that the paint is thoroughly dry, would there be any advantage to not only wait a week to start the sanding, but also actually do the sanding in a over a couple of days taking a...

Re: Need your suggestions - Final steps in a chip repair Mike, Thanks for your "specific" reply. Yep, I read all of your posts over on MOL, including the warnings. :D I've had the Unigrit blocks for several years but have not used them. Most to the time I do not use the "blob technique" on...

    Toyota Bumber help

I own a Tacoma. The flares themselves have a texture to them. If you buff or wet sand them, you will go right down to the plastic and have a major problem. All Tacomas look this way. (I'm a "new guy" here, but an "old guy' when it comes to detailing and Toyotas.)
