Clay Pad on DA vs. Clay Mitt - Which works better?

Hey Guys, So for the longest time I've used a clay pad 6inch on a DA like Mike P showed me years ago on here (machines work better than your hand). I tended to go by that...until I started seeing how much faster it works by using it as a mitt during the wash process (after you've washed the car...

Taking out water spots and doing a first time polish from my buddy's BMW M235I (Mineral Gray Metallic) Sunday. Need some tips...

Soooo.....it worked out! The goal was really to get those stupid water spots out, and we did! Not to mention adding some sweet gloss and shine to the paint (which was in pretty good condition as it was as well). :) We started by doing a whole wash on the car, then decontaminating it with...

Taking out water spots and doing a first time polish from my buddy's BMW M235I (Mineral Gray Metallic) Sunday. Need some tips...

If needed, I got sonax maxcut ready along with a ton of Megz DMC MF Pads. Compounded my rock hard Audi S4 paint couple years back with the then GF and now wife :) (what made her a keeper). Hope it doesn't come to that and the acid/water mix can take it out....

Taking out water spots and doing a first time polish from my buddy's BMW M235I (Mineral Gray Metallic) Sunday. Need some tips...

Hey Everyone, So I will be working on a buddy's car on Sunday (with his help), polishing it all out and taking out some water spots. They were REALLY bad before, but he did some hack using vinegar and surprisingly got a good amount out. A little backstory on how he got it: Lives in a pretty...

Anyone ever put a splash of APC in their favorite car shampoo bucket to add more 'kick' ?

I try! Just the weekends get so busy with the wife. And if a car is getting washed….it’s my Audi before her older Volvo aka the tank. Haha

Anyone ever put a splash of APC in their favorite car shampoo bucket to add more 'kick' ?

Ditto on this! And to those eluding to it in this thread, just to clear up confusion: I do not want to wash my car this ahrshly regularly. It's more so trying to see if I can 'bazooka' it for cars that are really grimey...like that of the wife haha to make my life a little easier.

Anyone ever put a splash of APC in their favorite car shampoo bucket to add more 'kick' ?

Not 'cleaner' but want something that will dilute all of the junk on the paint, before I wash. Bug guts, road film, grime from driving highway for 12+ hours over a long weekend, etc. This is the wifes car too. ;) But with that said, I would recoat it as well when done. From what I've seen...

Anyone ever put a splash of APC in their favorite car shampoo bucket to add more 'kick' ?

This is what I've suspected was essentially the case when you'd see these 'bug and tar' shampoos out there. The APC I've been using lately that's been around forever, but I never seen talked about here is Oil Eater. That stuff is amazing at cutting the junk I have to pre-treat off my detailing...

Help! How do I get off these really bad water spots off?

That's what I am going to do. Wheel Brightener first, and then if that doesn't work, going with some cutting compound and foam pad (or MF if it's really bad). Hmmm...scared to try that more than the wheel brightener lol. I know, right?? It hurts to see for sure. He loves that car. Will...

Help! How do I get off these really bad water spots off?

I had a buddy come to me to help fix these really bad water spots. For those wondering, this is a result of his apartment complex having some leaks Thay dropped all over his car. He had this happen before, but it was just one spot and he used meguiars water spot remover. With a lot of elbow...

What do ya'll like for windshield protectant?

My real issue is durability. But I read that prep is the biggest importance with glass. And not just coating it, either. Glass is so dang hard, so it takes more intense stuff for coatings or sealants to work right and get to the bare glsss Anyone try stoners glass stripper? I just got some...

Recommendation on shampoo to replace Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Clear as strip wash/tire soap?

That’s what I used it for back in the day! Haha. Citrus stuff in there hoping it stripped the sealant and any stuff from the paint. Times have changed though. Any recommendations on what could fit this that AG offers?

Anyone have an old Griots GG3 they want to sell me? :)

So did winter prep on the wife's car last weekend. I recently (like last 3-4 months) exchanged my old GG3 for the newer G8 through Griots' exchange program. I would use my old GG3 (which is really all I used it for cause lack of power lol) for applying sealants. I was thinking the G8 would do...

Painting my new garage. What colors work best for a garage when it comes to detailing?

I bought a new home with the wife 2 months ago. Now I am getting around to getting the garage finished to turn into my dream detailing/wrenching garage. haha Size of garage is 20x20. I was doing some quick reading, and I saw a recommendation of using more matte paint for a garage, to help with...
