Menzerna FG400 didn't do enough for me on my 2010 Audi S4 with phantom black paint. Hard as a rock!! It took Sonax Max Cut (which may I add worked like a dream!) to get in there deep. Used Megs MF pads too.

Sounds like you may have let the pad get too hot and then potentially melted the velcro on the pad. Happened to a lot in the beginning cause I didn't switch pads often enough. When you tried putting that pad back on the machine, did you notice the 'velcro' not stick as strong as before? If...

Sorry to nitpick, but not that the towels aren't quality--more so that they 'blend' of synthetic, if soft paint (or so I've heard), can cause scratching. If you're using an 80/20 blend, that is more for harder clears. Where as 70/30 I hear is the ticket to use for softer clears to help with not...
