Milky staining on rims?? How bad is this?

So I picked up these rims recently for a good price....but I failed to notice these stains on the wheels. They were pretty dirty so that probably covered it up. These stains are consistent on all 4 wheels unfortunately. Used Griots heavy duty wheel cleaner, cleaned most of the tar in the...

Underpowered BOSS 21 compared to GG6? Help!

I apologize--but I forgot to respond back to this! Thanks for the link. Makes it a bit easier to understand what is going on and why the 'pad stall' from the sounds of it. Anyway--an update: I spoke with Griots customers service, who may I add is the best! I let the woman know a bit...

Underpowered BOSS 21 compared to GG6? Help!

I think you may be spot on with the hardware not being secure. I think the washers put stress on the backing plate, and as a result has caused this issue. I don't think the problem lies with the user error component. I had like 4 MF pads, but kept switching them out and blowing them with...

Underpowered BOSS 21 compared to GG6? Help!

Correct I did two because one didn't clear teh shroud. Only with two did it not rub on the shroud anymore.

Underpowered BOSS 21 compared to GG6? Help!

Yea. I think that's actually it.... In my case I think it's the backing plate that failed. I say this because I actually finished the job on the car by switching to my bigger and maybe used once 6 inch backing plate. I put that on, and the BOSS started working like magic again. And I...

Compounding and Polishing 2010 AUdi S4 - Phantom Black (SUPER HARD paint) Progress thread

And here are some pics of her during the day today. I restored the foglight trim with some 'tire shine' I use by Adams. Works well on the rubber tires so I thought...why not try it out on the trim? Made it look awesome! The car came out great! Although I am an absolute...

Compounding and Polishing 2010 AUdi S4 - Phantom Black (SUPER HARD paint) Progress thread

So finally finished up tonight! The pics are not the best....but this is what I got. I'd say I got about 90% of the scratches out during compounding. Used Menz 2500 and am happy with the outcome! Used my new And used my love Menzerna PowerLock (my old love) to seal all the hard work...

Underpowered BOSS 21 compared to GG6? Help!

Hi Guys, So I tackled compounding my Audi on Wednesday. I was using my GG6 and my BOSS 21 (OG one purchased when it first came out). After tackling the car with it, I was noticing I was getting just as much correcting with less passes with my old but reliable GG6! I stopped using it once I...

Compounding and Polishing 2010 AUdi S4 - Phantom Black (SUPER HARD paint) Progress thread

Thanks! Yea--I agree. 1 size does NOT fit all. That's how I had to discover how much a PITA Audi paint is haha. Haha. Thanks man! Will do. My only issue is with the Boss. I am wondering if I should reach out to Griots or if it's user error... :(

Compounding and Polishing 2010 AUdi S4 - Phantom Black (SUPER HARD paint) Progress thread

Hi Guys, So I decided to finally get around and compounding the Audi. I bought it last year and the strongest stuff I had was Menzerna FG400. Used that with Megz MF cutting discs....and it did good work...but didn't get the really fine deeper stuff. So I sat on this for a while haha. But a...

Jescar - Bead It - leaving car in state where it attracts dust and dirt?

Yea--I think my first try out I went TOO Heavy. I followed instructions....but think this stuff is super concentrated in retrospect. I think you're right. This stuff goes a looooong way. Hmmm... Don't be! This is probably user error. :p I thought I buffed it alll out, but It turns out I...

Jescar - Bead It - leaving car in state where it attracts dust and dirt?

Applied bead it about a couple weeks ago. Not that happy with it. Initially it looked amazing but after the initial application I noticed I missed some spots on wiping it off on glass. It I guess got pretty baked in and took some scrubbing to get it off the glass. This is annoying. Taking it off...

Been out the game for a while...but love me my Menz PowerLock. What helper spray wax goes well with it?

So another update. Haven't been happy lately wtih my result..... I feel like a strange film of the spray sealant since I did it for the first time some weeks back. I gave her a bath tonight, and noticed just like 2 hours after I washed the car it almost had a strange 'static cling' to dust...

Good input, thanks! Had no idea about the galvanized coating. Is there a way for a paint shop to put that coating back on?

Slight rust on very bottom of fender. Does this need a repaint? :(

So a little about this car. It's a 2010 Audi S4, and used to belong to an ex gf's father. Bought it from their family for a good price...but there's little things that need to get fixed. This apparently is another to add to the list.....but don't get me wrong though, I love this car to DEATH...
