    Rinseless Wash

Is there a bad rinseless wash? If there is I haven't heard of it. I don't see the Turtlewax product offered at my Wal-Mart anymore. It worked as well as any of them, but its a couple of bucks more than a conventional shampoo, and I think the whole 'rinseless' thing weirds out their customer...

    Pre-soaked towel method

Quantity beats quality here if you ask me. I get the el cheapos from Sam's Club and make sure I have plenty. It seems to me the essence of the Garry Dean method is to be unstinting in using and discarding towels at the drop of a hat. Today I went through probably 22 of those small towels on...

Did I make a mistake buying the PC 7424XP?

C'mon you guys. How many times does this get used per year for a guy taking care of two cars? 8 maybe? Suppose a guy uses the Nano-skin as a claybar substitute. Then There is the application of the sealant and wax. I'm thinking on average 12-15 hours per year, for a guy who Nanoskins his...

    AIO without the wax

Well, DG 501 apparently is mildly abrasive. More of a jeweler's rouge for cars I suppose, but still... On the other hand, DG Squeaky Clean doesn't seem to exist. I don't even see it on the DG website. Did they change the name, or decide not to market the product, or something?

    AIO without the wax

F-150. I thought all cars were clear coat now. Odd....Duragloss squeaky clean appears to be the only detailing product on earth not carried by Autogeek. My guess is they are being boycotted for not having a three digit number.

best sectioning scheme using garry dean wash method

Don't ration towels. This is one reason why its silly to spend the long bucks on premium microfiber towels. Get the bag of el cheapos at Sam's Club. Will the Sam's club cheapo towel ruin your paint? If your car can't stand up to a cheap mf there is no hope for it in the real world anyway.

    AIO without the wax

I should clarify that I want a non-abrasive cleaner, if there is such a thing. The car is still pretty new and I've been pretty conscientious about protecting the paint. Also, I guess I should ask the preliminary question: If my white paint is in good enough condition it requires no...

    AIO without the wax

I'm highly satisfied with the wax I am using. But my car is white and Mike Phillips says to use a cleaner on it once in a while. Is there a stand-alone cleaning product that you apply without the wax? Basically, an AIO without the wax or sealant. All things being equal, I'm partial to the...

    Reviews missing?

Me. too. There were considerable number of shill reviews, but you get pretty good at looking past that. Might as well check at Amazon---and buy there, too.

How long to wait before waxing a brand new car?

There is a grain of truth to the "wait before you wax a new car" myth. It stems from the import quotas on Japanese cars that started around 1984. The country was in a very deep recession. The domestic manufacturers were getting the stuffing knocked out of them by the Japanese. So...

    Best Dual Action Polisher? Rupes - Griot's - Porter Cable - Meguiar's

Love my Flex, It makes the waxing part (even with paste wax) one of the easiest and fastest parts of the chore. That said, its overkill for me. With Collinite I only wax 3 X per year. If my wife replaces her jalopy, it will probably go to 6 X per year. The Flex moves so fast, I doubt its on...

Keeping the car 'clean' in the winter

Exactly what I do. I do put warm water in the rinseless bucket--I'm not sure if it helps the car, but its more comfortable for me. I wouldn't think of trying to do the whole shebang in the winter. I put a good coat of Collinite paste wax on the last "good" week of the fall and rely on it...

Do I really need a Flex?

I have one. It performs as advertised, that's for sure. I can slap on a coat of Collinite paste wax 1,2, 3. I use it on one car, three times per year. For me, its overkill. I don't need to do paint correction. A Harbor Freight thingy would probably work fine. In my defense, they didn't...

    Otc lsp

Why? The Collinite seems about as tough as it can be---Why lay it down on a foundation of sand, relatively speaking? I know it calls itself a 'wax' but I can attest that it has plenty of weird chemicals in it. I left the top ajar overnight in the garage after I was done and I thought an animal...

What is a good OTC Last Step Product for a white car? Tried Light Fantastic and Triple XXX Hardcore from Chemical guys on top of Collinite 476. Couldn't tell one from the other side by side, although they both improved the appearance of the car. Sure, I could get some P21 or any number of...

Yeah. Yours is really impressive. Most of us, me included, don't spend enough time on the interior.

    New guy from Albuquerque

I'm from the general area. I'm a protect my investment guy more than a detail hobbyist. I go for a bang per minute/buck spent approach. I think the biggest timesaver for me is the rinseless wash. Turtlewax rinseless works just fine. Google up the Garry Dean approach on youtube. Get the...

    Summer coming to AZ.

September is the worst month in Phoenix. September is nice everywhere else in the world, Northern hemisphere, Southern hemisphere, you name it. Not Phoenix. In Phoenix, its been summer since early May and by the third week of September, the people there look like they are ready to shoot...

    Glaze before sealant/wax-definitive answer

OPs post is anything but definitive. Sure. Like a chemist (assuming they even have one) is going to come to the phone and talk to some random guy who is thinking about spending $25 on their product. Besides, how is he even supposed to know? "Do you know if your EZ Creme glaze bonds well with...

    "Best" Interior UV Protection?

ya know, no offense, but the opinions from the Great White North don't count for much on this one. I'd like to hear from the 'zonies on this particular issue. you know, the guys with screen names like "azcat" and "desertdawg" I've seen cars from Arizona with dashboards that look like mosaics.
