    I See Spots

What steps would you suggest to remove these water spots on a Toyota Tacoma (not sure of the year)? The guy told they've been there awhile & it looks it. Seems like the water spots have water spots. I tried a test spot w/ a little compound & it turned the pad black. Photo is by the wsw nozzle.

New logo, what do you think?

I agree w/ removing the flames & flags. Maybe consider adding a boat & bike graphic since you do those as well.

Headlight sealant: spar urethane vs. opti coat 2.0

I agree that the spar light looks to have retained clarity better that the oc light.

A bit of a dilemma here. Business related question.

Maybe. Maybe not. What does it say? It may read that you can't compete for 6 months, 1 year or whatever after you leave employment there. But if a lawyer says it's ok then you should be good.

    Grille Worx

Actually it's not paint, it's Plasti Dip. Got the idea from another thread. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/40651-repainted-grill-bmw.html Just have to see how it lasts. Thanks for the comments everyone.

using a drill as a polisher

I've used it w/ 3" & 4" pads for spot buffs & headlights like you mentioned. I wouldn't recommend using a larger pad. I tried for the fun of it. Pressure on pad felt uneven & really didn't feel in control of what I was doing.

    Grille Worx

Courtdale's post on the BMW grille got me motivated this weekend. Cloudy & rainy so I decided to finally take care of my grille on a 2004 Kia Optima. B4: During: After: Even did the wiper arms on my CRV. Will do the Optima next week.

2nd Headlight Restoration ...BUT ?? hmmmm

Tough to tell from the pics but it does sound like it's inside the light. If it's inside the light, it wasn't caused by you. For moisture you can take the bulb out & run a hair dryer into the light to dry it out. But if it's a seal or a cracked lens the moisture will come back. The only other...

worth it to have the dealer fix this?

You can always go to the dealer to see what they say. You don't have fix it but at least get their recommendation. This way if it becomes an issue it's on record. Make sure they write a repair order so it's in writing. And as always, take pictures.

    Neighbors...

You would think after 6 weeks of trial & error they would at least have an idea of what to do. Just for fun you could make an anonymous call to the town. There may be nothing they can do about the dust but maybe there's a permit violation??? I understand not wanting to make an enemy especially...

    Power Inverter

For my own piece of mind I have my vehicle running. Then I don't have to worry about it while I'm working. If you get the one from HF, just remember to turn it off when you turn your car off. Otherwise it will still draw. Thought about a jumpbox for just such an occasion b/c I know one day I...

:iagree: And take pictures. Depending on the shop's attitude you may need to apply some pressure to get them to fix it properly. (BBB,legal, etc)

I think I may be nuts

Was in the same boat way back when. I wanted a Mustang & a Jeep. So I bought the Mustang, when it was paid off I got the Jeep. Best of both worlds for many years. The Jeep lasted to 380k miles when the engine went. Wasn't worth replacing since the body was disintegrating. The 'Stang is now my...

Working out of home versus small shop?

I like those concepts. Almost like an exclusive club membership or a "I don't detail just anyone's car" attitude. Even turn it around on the customer somewhat & make them qualify themselves that they are worth your time. Not with an arrogant attitude but busy.
