Today I was reading a thread in another forum about tire dressing. The consensus there was that the best tire dressing, especially for big off-road tires, is... Pledge. Zoiks.
I posted this message PRE-COFFEE this morning so a thousand apologies for the vague title as well as for conflating "sealant" and "coating".
It looks like I should add CanCoat to my list of possible products.
Bob we run Weathertech floor liners in all our cars and I did just order mud flaps...
I am not a mechanic and I haven't cracked open a set of drum brakes in decades. I'm curious what in the world is going on in this photo? What caused this?
I'm trying to think ahead to how I will prepare my wife's car for the winter this year. Last year the paint hibernated under Powerlock+ which I have no complaints about and have plenty left in the bottle.
This year I want to try something different. I'm wondering about Wolfgang, Pinnacle...
You haven't posted much since your accident which is totally understandable, but I thought if you have a chance you could let us know that you are healing ok.
That photo haunts me. How many times have I seen your "after photos" of detailing work you've done to it. I can't imagine how it feels for you. Heal soon!!
This weekend I was faced with the dilemma of not washing my daily at all this week vs. washing it in direct sun. I have some McKees 37 Sio2 Auto Wash that I haven't really used and remembered this statement on their web site:
Stop worrying about water spots! Instead of washing your vehicle...
I bought four paving stones today. I think my wife thought it was for the garden. :-)
This is a little better for getting the tires clean all the way around.
I was cleaning some tree sap off my car yesterday with Tar-X and wondered if my work was also removing sealant. The web site says Tar-X is "also a strong cleaner" so I'm guessing it does have this effect. I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer for sure.
Here is what makes me cringe:
"Hi everyone, I'm new to detailing and just bought my first polisher. Saturday I am going to do a full 3-step plus sealant and wax but I'm wondering [process question]. Also I have to knock all this out in one day."
Probably the 550 Everest. But to answer a different question: the product that makes me the happiest to use right now is Bead Maker. Never gives me trouble, smells great, terrific results.
