Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

Take a look at duragloss 501. Good cleaner and very durable.

    Sealant comparison

Well, Eldorado2k, thanks for the guess. I'm actually not recording chronological time, but the number of times a particular product can survive an alkaline wash cycle. Although I'm trying to wait 24 hours between washes, I'm washing pretty frequently, sometimes multiple times in one day. My...

    Sealant comparison

OK let me try this: Well, inspired by RippyD Ive been experimenting with a few sealants lately and thought I would see how some of these products stand up to a commercial car wash and their cleaning solutions. Although I'm too impatient to wait these products out as Rippy has, I figured I...

For those of you with an extractor, do you have a crevice tool?

Yeah, I agree they're not cheap. I thought about trying to make one out of clear PVC pipe. I figured I could heat and shape the PVC as needed. I do like the clear head on the upholstery tool for visual confirmation of cleanliness.

For those of you with an extractor, do you have a crevice tool?

Hi Guys, I have a mytee lite with the air lite upholstery tool. Even with the newer design there are some places I can't access well. For those of you that have an extractor, do you find the crevice tool attachment helpful? I'm referring to one like the mytee 8700 Mytee Stainless Steel...

Fresh face, NEW VAN and fun mobile retrofit to start up my NEW old passion as a Mobile Business

I don't offer detailing at my car washes but as a long time business owner I'll tell you that you quickly need to figure out the math or you're ultimately fail. Time is money. You'll get a little faster but no so fast that $25 for a basic wash and vac is going to be anywhere near a decent...

    Ridgid Vac hose upgrade ?

2" is what most commercial car washes use but I think the real reason is in the old days everyone smoked and the cigarette butts would get caught in the throat of 1.5 inch nozzles. 2" is bulky. Having said that, Mr nozzle is a recognized US manufacturer of commercial car wash equipment and it...

    Sealant comparison

RippyD is MIA. I sent him a PM a week or so ago and haven't heard back. His research is so thorough I think my few posts and contribution on the topic will pale in comparison and thought my research might just make a good supplement to this thread. Cliff notes on my (still underway) tests-...

Paint protection....what is the best option?

Oh, by the way, here's a great thread on sealant longevity. Sealant comparison He hasn't tested powerlock yet though.

Paint protection....what is the best option?

is this a daily driver? Do you hand wash, or run through commercial car washes? I couldn't recommend a coating for someone that frequents automatic washes. I'm testing durability of some sealants in touch free car washes right now and jescar powerlock is a strong contender. Its so easy to put...

Agreed, apply it to all surfaces and go back around the vehicle and knock it down with a trash microfiber. It'll look great.

Jescar Power Lock Plus same as Menzerna Power Lock

I've just tried it once. I know some swear they can tell the difference but I couldn't see any improvement by topping powerlock with collonite.

Looking to move from gas to electric power washer…suggestions?

AR does make commercial grade pumps. I have no idea if they truly manufacture their homeowner line or just license it out, but I could imagine their units being more reliable and overall a better bang for the buck if a pressurized water feed is OK.

    Menzerna One Step Polish

Looks great! I would have not expected that finish with a compound. What was your pad and tool choice?

    Sealant comparison

The test has started, I had room for twelve products on my truck hood. I'm kinda busy right now so it may be a few days before I can post something meaningful. Rippy, do you want me to start my own thread or just piggyback my posts into your fine work on this thread?

Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

So far what little I use it I really like it. I'm just going to dedicate a pad and mark the side of it with a sharpie "JPL" and store it in a ziplock. I'm testing the durability of it now in a touch free car wash.
