    Microfiber Towels

Exactly. Just because it 'looks' clean, does not mean it is clean. It's the stuff you DON'T see that can really mess up all your hard work.

    Shinex?

Hmm.. I always thought that sealant went on first, then wax. Since NXT is a sealant and Collinite a wax (I thought), I figured this was the right order.

    Shinex?

Yeah figured as much, but thought I'd ask anyways, in case it was something worth trying. I've already ordered a bottle of Collinite 845 from AG. Looking forward to using it after I've done a full paint correction on my car. Going to layer it over Meg's NXT 2.0 paste.

    Shinex?

So I saw this on the Phoenix Craigslist, and wasn't sure what to think: LINK REMOVED : Shinex Now, I've never heard of 'Shinex' before, and to be honest, my initial thought was that the tubs have seen a fair bit of fading.. but I figured I'd see if anyone else had any thoughts. If the...

    Who's up for a challenge?

Long Forgotten Corvette Collection Rediscovered Massive lot of majorly neglected corvettes from 1953 through 1987.. sat in storage for decades and only now is it seeing the light of day again. Would love to see what a talented detailer could do with these.

Are all yellow hand wax pads the same?

If you have any "99 cents only" stores near you, I've found some really nice two-packs of Goodyear-branded MF pads like the white ones in Swanic's post. $1 for two really nice quality MF pads. I've stocked up on a ton.

    Speeds for HF Polisher

I have one of these HF polishers too, and still have the 6" plate. Can you point me in the direction of a good 5" backing plate to get to replace it? I bought this for a big full-car paint correction, and I'd like to make sure I start with the right equipment. Thanks!

Has anyone actually tried the Chemical Guys J-97 $999.00 wax?

I would definitely agree with what PiPUK says. In this case, the 'tub' is a solid aluminum replica of the gearbox from a motorcycle, completely with a bolt-on lid, that was supposedly designed by someone. Definitely not a cheap tub, and would have cost a fair bit of money to get a bunch made...

Has anyone actually tried the Chemical Guys J-97 $999.00 wax?

This reminded me of another product where price gets ridiculous - Wine. Whenever I hear of someone spending $1000.. $1500.. $2500.. and up on wine, I always have to wonder - "What the heck makes any wine worth this much??" Can a person really tell the difference between a $150 bottle and a...

The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

I bought this 2010 Fusion in late July 2014 with just over 178,000 miles on it. It now has a little over 190,000 miles on it. Paint was covered with DISO when I bought it - still is - but overall in good shape. I plan on doing a full correction very soon, but this is how it sits now.

is there salt removal chemical for winter cleaning?

Your best bet for salt removal is going to be DHMO. Careful though, it can be dangerous if not used correctly. ;)
