Completely agree, if it’s not there consistently I’d probably rule out burn through. You have lots of paint proven when measured. Might just be some anomaly due to reflections. Strange things happen at the factory and delivery of vehicles so it’s always possible there’s a defect of some sort...

Gotcha. At this point I’d be more inclined to say it’s not burn through. If possible can you get paint depth readings along this mark and then paint along this panel? Juuuuust to be sure it’s not extremely thinned clear. Here’s to it being nothing major and not needing a repaint :cheers:

Hey, just a heads up, your picture isn’t showing. If it’s along the edges of the rear door and quarter panel, it’s possible to burn through the clear easier as it’ll be thinner at the edges.

Ahh gotcha, in that case it’ll generally be a finishing polish(Megs 205 or Ultimate Polish), polishing pad or finishing pad, panel prep/wipe down and then coating. Hope that answers your question! Never tried Polish Angel products myself but I remember a few years ago there was a thread on here...

This is another reason I’ve stuck with them. My daily drivers are out in the elements basically 24/7, they need to be polished every 6-12 month to deep clean the paint and keep the appearance in tip top shape. A 2-5 year coating doesn’t interest me as much for that reason alone. Doesn’t hurt...

Yeah, I’ve actually yet to use any of the longer term semi permanent coatings, sticking mainly to the “lites” Cancoat, Mckees V1 and V2 Coating, Adams Ceramic and Turtle Wax HSSC. I like that they apply easily, wipe off with minimal effort and offer outstanding performance. Interested to see...
