Prestige Auto Detailing: 1999 Honda Accord

Hey great job! I do 4 dealers vehicles and what they do is buy vehicles like this and hire me to detail them and they sell them. Generally making about 1-2k off each vehicle once its cleaned. People are gross! It's got me thinking... Why shouldnt I be buying these for myself and selling them? By...

Souveran ok on super fresh paint?

Also as far as putting tape on your bumper... The Idea behind not putting wax or sealant on a fresh paint job is to allow the "gas" to escape. Won't the tape kinda act like a wax and not allow gas to escape? Even only for one day it seems worse. Ever thought of a clear bra? My buddy had one on...

Souveran ok on super fresh paint?

First off. Where did he paint the bumper? In his garage or in a shop where it was baked? If the paint was baked in a booth you can do whatever you want to it. Which is why you can wet sand, buff, etc on a fresh paint job. As long as it was properly prepped and baked you will have no issues.

    wet sanded 68 camaro

I know what your getting at with the time. How do I quote it? As for that I would shoot for the high side. Chances are they will pay it because they know what it takes. Good luck. That will be a fun job and one good for references.

    Modded cars

As for me this is my ride. I would have a mustang too but it wont pull an enclosed trailer with 200 gallons of water! Its dropped 2" in the rear VHT tail lights, Saleen Zip Tube intake, K&N drop in filter, Electric fan, Flowmaster side exit exhaust, Edge Power Programmer, and 4:10 rear end. Yes...

    Modded cars

I did a clients Cobras. The convert. is his wifes with 65k miles on it. The coupe is his track car. Dyno's at 425 with no blower or spray, all engine work. These cars had lots of scratches, paint overspray, and tons of swirls. I did a 2 stage compound and polish then a paint sealant. Cars came...

    wet sanded 68 camaro

What grit paper they used will determine how long it will take. Most likely and hopfully for you they finished out with 2000. That is a big car with hard edges so be careful. As far as time plan on putting at least 9 hours in it if your using a high speed buffer. Good luck:buffing:

    Engine Detailing Question

Cover alternator and other obvious electronics. Cover all bearing ridden pulleys. Wet engine with power washer on low pressure. Spray with degreaser and rubber tire cleaner. Let sit a few mins then agitate with brushes. Again with power washer on low pressure wash away all contaminates. Blow...

Thinking about buying a steamer...opinions please

I got to use mine today on a 96 mustang that the owner had smoked in. I did a little test. I first went over the vinyl and plastic with my normal routine of spraying with an apc and wiping everything down really well. It looked clean. I then turned on the steamer (the Shark) and began steaming...

Thinking about buying a steamer...opinions please

I have a mighty lite. Steamer is for fabric and door panels, steering wheels, etc.

In what order do you clean the interior?

I go top from bottom. I clean the headliner, dry brush the seats, brush out all cracks in dash, clean all compartments, do a rough clean with an apc, vacuum, clean carpet, clean seats, extract carpet, then apply protectants and clean glass, and don't forget the doorjambs.

Thinking about buying a steamer...opinions please

I just bought a Shark. Literally... I was looking around on here for ideas and everyone seems to have their own so I did some research online and this is supposed to be one of the best ones. The Shark and the McCullough machines people say are the best in the price range. Bought the Shark cause...

    what do you think?

3-5 a day??? no way. I might could do 3 with no paint correction and given the cars were clean to begin with. Paint correction of any kind is very time consuming. And so is carpet. May wana re-think your pricing.

    Carpet Steamer?

I one up that! I have the same machine and love it. I read on here that woolite is terrible for auto use. It is meant to be heavily rinsed out with gallons and gallons of water and you will always end up with a soap residue on the carpet. Not cool. I use purple power dilluted 50-50 on carpet and...

    New from Birmingam,AL

I think to PC brushes are a little over rated. Work well for big areas but kinda clumsy anywhere else. I use Folex and some degreasers with had brushes and yes the PC on some occasions then extracted with the mighty lite.

    1Z High Gloss VS M205

You cant go wrong! 205 is very easy to work with. I have never used 1z so I cant do much for you there but I have went through 2 bottles of 205 so far and I have no reason to look for another polish. 105 is very finicky and I find myself wetting my pad to keep it from drying to fast. Get ya some!
