What can be done about a fake yelp review?

How do you re-detail a car you never detailed in the first place:confused:

    Removing old wax

Be really carefuly of the dilution rate of IPA/Water too. I recall Mike saying he wouldn't go about 17.5%. Over that you can actually damage the paint.

    Disappointed with Flex Tools

That's nuts!! I've never seen that with any of my 4 buffers, 2 of which are Flex. My bet is you got a defective unit.

Question for detailers that have a shop or detail at home

Back in the states I detail out of my garage. And like others have mentioned most of my details are an all day affair. Here in Japan I use the self serve shop on base, MOST of my customers will drop the car off and pick it up later. I've had a few that wanted to see the process and stayed- that...

    Dish soap?

Thanks for the reply- that's kinda what I was thinking. I used to use dish soap all the time (years ago) but now I try to keep kitchen/household products away from the car lol

    Dish soap?

I searched and there were a plethora of threads that came up but I didn't find the ones asking this question directly. I'm sure it's out there but I don't have the patience to read every thread lol

    Selling Supplies

It's interesting that you mentioned getting started at Pep Boys etc...... often when I detail my customers or onlookers ask about why I use what I use and where to get the products I use since most are not available except online. I explain the differences and the benefits of professional grade...

    Dish soap?

I'm just curious- with all the great car soaps and shampoos, is Dawn really necessary for when you want to completely remove everything from a finish? It seems like it's overkill to me - especially if you are going to clay or nanoskin the car. Thoughts?

    Clay vs nanoskin

I have both and use both. I agree with what others have said that for the vast majority of jobs nanoskin is fast and effective. There are times I still break out the clay but it's not too often.

Customer wants me to fix his broken window?

That's crazy! He's def trying to scam you. And I wouldn't give him a dime nor would I touch anything else of his. If he tries to trash you on public/local forums, I'd expose him for the tool that he is. MOST get what normal wear and tear is and will quickly turn on him (although it seems a few...

Mark's Fast Ferrari with Wolfgang Fuzion

Does anyone use a sponge for a Rinseless Wash? If so, what brand?

Microfiber only for me - and GDWM only as well. Sponges just don't make sense to me for washing delicate painted surfaces.

Toronto Detailer took owner car for joy ride 449km

I also offer a pick up and drop off service - however no joyrides. That's wrong on just about every level!!

    Flex 3401 or rupes bigfoot.

So I just did a full correction on a E60 and really concentrated on my technique. Making sure the pad was making good flat even contact, ensuring it was properly prepped with product and spray, and really concentrating on my arm speed etc.... and had a LOT more success. Granted the body panels...

    Blackfire Rinseless vs IUDJ

After trying IUDJ I won't use anything else. Plus it's not a one trick pony - it does so many things so well. I can't imagine not having it on my shelf.
