This is just a normal thing. It really has nothing to do with your technique. It basically is all about the area you live in and the time of year. Also, the lighter the car, the more they area attracted to it.

Wetsaning is definitely better. I don't know why you would drysand paint unless you were trying to remove it. Wetsanding will give you smoother results for compounding out. Drysanding will leave the paint too rough. Simple as that. Also, drop a little car wash into the busket you are using...

I use the orange ones from SAMS for interior care. They aren't plush enough for paint duty in my opinion. I use the yellow and green ones from SAMS for paint care. They are great and have never swirled the paint one me.

Lake Country pads + Optimum and Menzerna polishes usually do the trick for me. I sometimes crack open some Meguiar's polishes.
