    Applying waxes - best practices?

+1 on the Polishing Pal--except underneath side view mirrors (too tight a squeeze). Just pop off the applicator and use underneath. Pal works great and less effort than holding onto applicator pad when waxing entire car.

    Tons of initial product reviews.

Regarding the Micro Restore, I find it does a decent job but not necessarily better than regular liquid detergent. I too agree its not wise to add more than directed. Adding some vinegar in the 2nd rinse does make a nice difference with the feel of the MFs.

    Disappointing; review

IMHO I'm just not sure the Wheel Glaze effort and results are worth it UNLESS you are the type that doesn't clean wheels very often which leads to that really cruddy caked-on dust. My OCD leads me to wipe down the rims every couple of days with a QD or 4-1 so the dust never gets bad enough to...

    Disappointing; review

So far I've loved all the products offered on AG except one; the DP Wheel Glaze. I've used it in the past but even when applying a very thin layer, wiping off and spritzing with water and wiping again, it just didn't do it for me. This week, tried it again on one front wheel (the fronts get...

Mon-Fri Job Gone: Maybe It's Time for Full Time Detailing

Toto, Sorry to hear but unfortunately the news is not uncommon these days. Others have suggested some excellent advice. Do sit down with a financial planner. He/She will look at your finances, savings and health care situation. Some companies allow an extensive health insurance package--others...

Looking for super slick, durable, wax.

I've tried it both ways just for grins and found AW over carnuba wax works better than vice versa...

    Whats New From Lake Country

Also a big fan of the Polishing Pal...Easy on the hands and arms. Only downside is its a little thick for underneath the side view mirrors.

Looking for super slick, durable, wax.

105 + Liquid Souveran + AW (after weekly washes) is as slippery as a snail trail. But more pleasant to deal with...:p

    More Blueballs!!!!!

Two work for me...saves you from having to add Bounce sheets or fabric softener and lessens static cling. They do a good job of fluffing up towels. That is if my wife doesn't constantly lose them...

detail i did for Evolution Performance, Inc.

Very nice. Haven't seen the small rim diameter look on performance cars in quite a while...Brings up some nostalgic memories.

What's the best way to use post wash spray wax/QD?

To me, the easiest/foolproof way is doing the drying/QD in the shade. A hot surface will haze or flash the QD too quickly removing any lubrication in it. On a cool surface the lubricant works nicely and goes on and off like butter. In addition, pay attention to the pressure. Very light on the...

    DG 521 Cleaning Ability

Muddy, I've used both the 521 and Meg UQD. The Meg is a nice QD although not quite the cleaner 521 is and is more expensive. In addition, I add about 1 oz of AW in the 521 (per suggestion from Al-53) and it seems to be the best of both worlds for cleaning and sealent between washings and...

    AW yes/no topper over carnuba?

Never had a hazing problem on my hood. I do use the AW sparingly though. Seems like the application of most products is similar to feeding my aquarium fish. Less is better.

    DG 521 Cleaning Ability

I really like the product on my car, but it came in handy for another application. Was rushing out to a tee time and realized my golf shoes were filthy. In a pinch, I sprayed a little 521 on a MF and wiped the shoes down. Came out great, and even removed stains I couldn't get out before and also...

    AW yes/no topper over carnuba?

There are links discussing this but really can't get a consensus. Absolutely love the carnuba look (I do percieve a difference on my metallic silver) but not sure if AW is wasted over carnuba...and vice versa. So here are some thoughts and questions; Does AW adhere to the carnuba (Liquid...

    Audi New R8 Detail

Wow. Amazing car and detail. Would be almost afraid to drive it because its so clean. But certainly the drive would be worth detailing again. :applause: It's what my A6 Quattro aspires to be when it grows up.

    #521...I'm hooked.

Certainly makes good business sense to capture as much consumer loyalty in that manner. And given their prices, the consumer benefits from the cost standpoint as well.

    #521...I'm hooked.

Gotta add my kudos to the 521. Incredible shine, slickness, easy to apply and works wonders on glass and wheels too when giving ride a quick QD. For the money, DG has not disappointed at all. If its true what Al-53 says about the DG products working in harmony with each other, I can't see any...

    Mixing AW and FC&S?

Hmm...wondering if an 80/20 or 90/10 mix with the 521/AW might work? Guess I'm never satisfied with stock solutions. :)
