Rupes Mini- pushing too hard or defective

I wasn't happy with it till i gave it a run with the Meg's mf pads. It leaves a bit of haze with them that cleans up great with the rupes yellow pads. The blue rupes pads were good on flat areas and left a real nice finish. Only thing I dislike about the blue pads is that I dinged one on an...

Rupes Mini- pushing too hard or defective

I noticed the same thing myself when i first used it. But I was used to my flex and pushing hard to correct. Then I realized this thing cuts like crazy without much pressure. I was able to use a 3 inch Meg's mf cutting pad on it to get 2200 wetsanding totally clear on a bumper and I barely had...

    Cquartz question....

No, if you use the same one on the foam block it starts to get streaky on the paint. I usually use about 8 per car which I think might be too much. But they are cheap and worth using extra to prevent issues. And the towel for removal just use until it starts to not seem to pick up the excess...

    Cuts in paint?!?!

Might need to include a couple pictures so we can get a better idea what it looks like.

    Cquartz question....

I would rather let it get dusty and then do a waterless wash to dust it off. But it's up to you what you'd like to do. I'm just not a fan of covers.

    Quick Easy Headlight restoration Job

The rotary can work great but also lots of times it's not just oxidized. Sometimes it's very deep scratches and the defects are deeper than just the surface and it takes a bit more than just cutting the lens on the light. Great work on that set though. They look great.

First timer seeking just a bit of advice

The pad can overlap off of the panel as long as you keep it spinning. It will take some playing around but it's very doable. I used my boss 21 with 6 inch plate on a quick production job and, while not convenient, I used it on every spot. Time and money on the job didn't cover switching...

    Cquartz question....

My personal opinion if the car is indoor stored and isn't a daily driver, don't even cover it after cquartz. The cover is going to offer more chances to mar the finish as you put it on and remove it. But I for sure wouldn't put it on until the full time has lapsed on curing for the coating.

    Ceramic Pro 9H?

I'm more than happy with carpro and cquartz Classic and uk. I hope to eventually move from home work to a shop so that I can get my hands on Finest. In just overly satisfied with the customer service from Corey, the quality of the product, and the price is pretty great compared to similar...

    Storing CarPro TRIX indoor

You will want to wash out anything that touches it or the smell can linger. Always use it in well ventilated areas also. As for indoor storage I can't tell you much other than bag it up maybe multiple bags and only crack them open outdoors. I keep mine stored in the garage in gallons and I...

Paying employees by hr or vehicle?

I don't run a big shop so my opinion is probably not valid, but when I bring in help I have a per service job rate I pay. Typically I'll be doing a paint correction and I bring in a select couple guys to do the interiors while I work the outside. For just basic interiors and help with washing I...

    Ceramic Coatings

I have used offerings from carpro, optimum, and 22ple, and I found this to be on par with those quality wise so far. I would definitely recommend it. As for prep it's sort of based on how perfect you want your paint. Most of us don't want to put an expensive coating over top of swirled and...

    Ceramic Coatings

It's a great product. The reason you see such a higher price to have them installed is the extreme amount of prep that goes into it. There is quite a bit of labor involved which is going to make it expensive if you don't do it yourself.

    Your Best Reflection Shot

04 Cobra I just finished up the other day.

    Finishing polish after fixer

Either of those products are great but also depends what you are looking to do with the project. Essence is a bit more expensive than reflect. Essence would be the perfect solution if you plan on doing a coating like cquartz after, and from what I read on the carpro forums it's also fine to do...

NEW! - Buff and Shine Uro-Tec Foam Pad System for all long throw orbital polishers!

I feel like I may just stick with the low pro pads. Just have to decide what size to focus on.

NEW! - Buff and Shine Uro-Tec Foam Pad System for all long throw orbital polishers!

I was about to just do the buff n shine low pro and this just complicates it now on top of trying to decide if I want to use 5.5 or 6.5 inch pads I have to figure out which line of pads.

NEW! - Buff and Shine Uro-Tec Foam Pad System for all long throw orbital polishers!

Man this is making it hard to choose now. Just got my g21 and pad selection is so tough. The 3401 was easy, LC backing plate kit and hybrid pads end of story lol. I'm real happy with Meg's mf pads and the cut and finish of the griots orange and polishing with yellow. I just want to get the...

How often to clay bar you car? Difference between medium and high grade clay?

Hey Mike I am curious, your links are not able to be clicked on when using the iOS autogeek app. Any fix for that? I can click just fine in a browser or on my computer but in the mobile app I see it as a blue link but it's not clickable.
