yes but the orange pad may be leaving a less then desirable finish. and its difficult without pictures and a little more description of whats going on to pinpoint the problem. you didn't tell us what your method was ie. how many passes with each product... try and describe the "not as shiny"...

Try a microfiber pad with 91 if that doesn't do it try Meguires 105 with the micrfiber pad. But why are you finishing with an orange pad?

I did the same thing, bought a bunch of 6.5" pads then found out 5" pads were better so i ordered those to find out MF pads a better yet... guess what's in the mail? Funny how this works isn't it?

Lies! You can learn to use a rotary in 10 minutes flat. Now it might take a few years to master a rotary, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use one. Common sense and caution will serve you best when learning this tool. Three quick tips 1) don't use excessive rpms when learning. 2) always...

I'm betting he would use a paint thickness gauge before he makes considerations to which tool and/or if any tool can be used for sanding on any given paint system.

Just look clean and fresh. In otherwords you can be clean and still look like you just rolled out of bed. That's my default look. Doesn't impress clients but then I don't have any since im not exactly a people person.

I had the same question you did but, Thanks to this thread and its contributers I made the choice to keep the Porter Cable. For the price its hard to beat, for the cost of the Flex or Rupes I now have 2 machines that cover many bases. I don't think that either the flex or rupes alone can do...

New to machine polishing I purchased the PC7424xp In january and by Febuary I was ready for "more" after doing my homework by researching on AG forums I decided on the 849x. The DeWalt has excellent reviews and an attractive price, very few complaints about this machine doing what a rotary is...

I used Adams severe swirl remover then, swirl and haze remover then machine polish, using Adams green, orange, then white 6.5" pads pc7424xp. those pictures you posted don't look past the point of severe swirls. :iagree:
