How many of you apply wax with a machine?

I tried doing a paste wax by machine once and I used way to much product. Since your correction is all done at this point, there is no need for high speed or extra heat, so doing it by hand is just as simple and quick, you can also easily get into the smaller areas by hand.

    2009 WRB Subaru Impreza WRX

Thanks. I picked that color because 1) it's the official rally blue and 2) because that color looks great all shined up.

    2009 WRB Subaru Impreza WRX

I got my WRX all cleaned up and had my friend take a few pictures that I thought I would share. Week 1: 1) Pre-soak with ONR, rise with pressure washer 2) Foam canon filled with mixture of ONR and Optimum Car Wash 3) Traditional wash wish Optimum Car Wash 4) Pinnacle Ultra-Poly Clay...

    303 too greasy

i like to use the small yellow foam wax pads to apply interior protectants., then buff with a dry mf. i use 303 on my door seals, but thats it anymore. it gives me bad headaches for a few days, so i use optimum opti-bond tire shine on the inside now. it is also water based and has uva and uvb...

    Detail log

Yes, everything has been posted and is currently live. The product database is so you can enter what steps you performed on your details and what products you used. The information will also be used later to be able to search for details by product used, as was talked about earlier in the thread.

    Detail log

So there have been a few minor upgrades over the last two weeks, such as a new homepage layout, a few ie6 compatibility fixes, and under the hood stuff you guys wouldn't care about such as unblocked search engines and what not. Today I did a major posting. Image uploads are done (really slick...

    Spot free drying?

I just use it on windows to get the bulk of the water off quickly. I have tried it on the car twice and I really didn't find it much more effective than sheeting the water off by flushing it with water, but that could also be technique. I know when I am done washing and drying, when I pull into...

What do you think of this process?

hmm, i don't have any water spots. what i meant by contamination is the paint doesnt feel slick, the pinnacle removed a lot, but i need something a bit more aggressive. what is getting to me is all the swirls, other than that the car really shines. when I was at the dealer today it was easy to...

    Spot free drying?

I love ONR and my favorite part of it is that the car is completely dry when finished, but sometimes the car just needs a full wash to get all the grime out of the wheel wells and all the nooks and crannies. I do probably 75-80% of my washing with onr, but sometimes (even in the middle of...

    Spot free drying?

You cant just let the water dry on the car without drying even with the dual filter setup, but you dont have to get it 100% dry. With a water flush, water blade and guzzler it dries quickly and wont spot. I still put onr in the soap though, and i do a final buff with spray wax to make sure its...

    Spot free drying?

That's what I have, but it's disconnected for the winter. I wouldn't say my water is very hard but can never be too safe.

What do you think of this process?

Sorry, I didnt see your reply eariler. Yeah the newer Subaru paint is pretty soft. Is that your r8 in your avatar? Looks nice. The only ones I've seen around here look like they were washed with a natural cactus sponge, even the ones at the auto shows.

    opt or wg?

If its bad enough that you think you need compound then optimum for sure, but try first with opt polish and an aggressive pad, then again stepping down the pad or switch to your final polish. I don't have any experience with tsr, but being a wg product and based on the reviews here, for a light...

What do you think of this process?

So some of you may know, I got in an accident at the end of December and had to buy a new car. I usually would wait to order instead of taking dealer stock, but I didn't want to drive my garage queen around in the ice and snow with all the rock and salt. Long story short, I bought a new 09 Blue...

    Wax on plastic

I have never tried PB, but heard numerous times how well it works. No offense Jimmie, but the DG Wax Remover will not work if it has already dried on there. It will just mask it for about 15 minutes. I recently used wheel cleaner, and it worked great for me, but then I got chewed out on here...

    first time waxer m3

It's tough to do any harm to it by hand or with a pc (or udm or flex) and you will most likely make it look better with a nice shine, but be prepared to spend some time doing it and putting up some cash. The PC and concours will do you well, but throw in some good car wash, a new mitt, a clay...

Florida Auto Detailers Read!!!! Car Wash ban!!!

I think you will learn to like rinseless washing anyhow and find it to be even quicker and more economical. It's not a bad thing to consider regardless of water restrictions. I am right with you guys though, and it sounds like they are leaning that way here in Oregon shortly too. I will be...
