    Good tire shine

I can't speak for the other water based shines, but the Optimum isn't very durable in the rainy months. I loved it throughout the past summer. I've switched back to megs hot tire shine (not water based) for the winter.

    Mequires (high End) Pro Line!!!??really?

The only mg product I have used is the cleaner and I must say it is other than being a bit runny and foul smelling, it is hands down the most effective paint cleaner I have used, and I think you may be getting some products mixed up in your mind. The cleaner is a pure chemical cleaner...

    my brothers 94 viper

steering defect? its called too much torque and no diff. im glad the driver was ok and i hope things work with the insurance for your brother. dodge shouldnt be allowed to make high powered cars, look at the number of accidents and fatalities in vipers and neons. 500 hp in a viper is not the...

Your choice of shampoo/soap for a CamSpray?

I only used the dp sample bottle and i had the setting too high so I went through it all in a matter of seconds, it was however very frothy. I have found optimum works great, but I have not tried any of the other recommended. I am not at all impressed with megs gc or duragloss however.

Best Redesigned and Affordable 2009 Cars

The 09 Forester is a pretty sweet redesign in the suv segment, i was sure wowed by the new interior, and while on the topic of Subaru, the new WRX got some nice enhancements pushing it well into the sti performance segment. If it wasnt for the 6-speed and hid there would be little reason to buy...

Pics of said ps3? The finish on the ps3 is more fragile than most cars, i've thought about polishing it as well, my wife would probably have me committed if she caught me doing that though.

Building my own website, please come in and be critical

I don't mean to deflate your ego, its a good first start. Kudos for you trying to take it on yourself when others have failed. With a little good learning materials and practice it should turn out fine. In the end, as long as your happy with it and it generates enough leads to pay for your time...

Building my own website, please come in and be critical

Just as anyone with a porter cable can call themselves a professional detailer, anyone with a computer can call themselves a professional designer. Just as there are a lot of hack job detailers, there are a lot of hack job "web designers". Just like a customer picking a new detailer, when your...

    flex vs pc

You are correct, sorry. I spoke to a flex rep who also used to work for porter cable. When he was describing the differences I mis-understood him as saying the flex was not a da, while their website says otherwise. Now things make much more sense.

    flex vs pc

The flex isn't a da, it only orbits. It is an orbital.

    Removing wax residue from trim

Most of my polishes and sealants do not stain. This was my first time working with xmt and I have expressed my dissatisfaction elsewhere.

    Removing wax residue from trim

I've heard of using pb several times before. Seems a bit werid but apparently it works. I don't think there has even been pb in the house in years though. A harsh wheel cleaner isn't my fav thing to put on the car either, that is why I sprayed it on a towel and only wiped the trim, then used qd...

    Klasse AIO

When people make the mistake of washing with dawn, they are doing it with the intention of stripping wax. So what would be the problem adding a little in your wash solution for prep? As a regular addative I second onr. It helps to trap even the smaller dirt particles that normally won't sink to...

    2008 Mazda 3

Dawn has a tendency to dry out the plastics and rubbers, it can be used on few occasionals but is generally not recommended. Save it for the kitchen. If you do use it, it is vital to apply dressing to the trim parts. After claying (which will remove most if not all of the protection without...

Mix and match waxes and QD's?

Your going to get tired of hearing me say this, but onr when you need a quick detailer with cleaning ability. If its safe and effective to wash an entire car with higher dilution, it's obviously going to work well for quick detailing and spot cleaning. Meg's is another viable (albeit more...

Better value for drying than Cobra Guzzler?

I noticed marring from the cheap target towels and immediately invested a pair of $15 (each) waffle weave towels from another site. They lasted well for a while, but they were still hard enough that i didnt want to rub them on my paint. If you flush the car with an open hose to remove all the...

    streaks in paint

Yeah QD = Quick Detailer. I'm not sure what product your talking about, but either Megs QD or Ultimate QD should do the trick. If it is similar to those, it can't hurt to try, but if it is simply a spray wax without any cleaner, it probably wont do much.

    Removing wax residue from trim

Cool, let me know how it works out. Also, I didn't have to go heavy with the cleaner, just half a spray of megs aluminum wheel cleaner (which is kinda harsh and acidic) onto a all-purpose mf towel and light rubbing. Afterwards, I sprayed some quick detailer on the opposite side of the towel and...
