Mix and match waxes and QD's?

I too am very low on space, so i keep my onr in the guest bathroom. I go in there to fill up my wash buckets when i onr anyways. You only need to make one spray bottle if you want since you can use the qd ratio of onr as lube also. It's just more product than you need and I would recommend...

Mix and match waxes and QD's?

You don't need a qd with polymers for claying. The lubrication and protection may actually get in the way preventing the clay to do its job effectively. As my posting above says, get a bottle on onr and mix it for clay lube it is very cheap and very effective. Save the more expensive QD+ for...

Mix and match waxes and QD's?

As killer says, most qd's are going to work with any lsp, but make sure your using the right product for the job. some are only cleaners, some are cleaners and waxes, some are just waxes. For cleaning, the megs qd or optimum onr are great, they also makes great clay lubes. The dg fast clean &...

    Removing wax residue from trim

The very first thing I did when I got my new car a little over a year ago was bring it home and do a clay polish and seal. I taped it off, but either I missed a spot, the tape ripped, or product got underneath it and ever since the car was new, I have had a small spot of residue on the mirrors...

    streaks in paint

I used to get that all the time from using too much polish. I would buff like crazy after polishing and it would still be there. Using QD immediately will help to remove it, but i've found that once it has been sitting there for a while, the only way to remove it was to start the process all...

    Yet another duragloss question

I probably wouldn't try it right away, but AW isn't very durable, so give it a week and apply another coat of the 105 after the next wash if you feel you need it. After the 601 and 105 all you really need is to freshen it with the 951 (AW) every other wash (or every wash if your ocd). Others...

    I love my foam gun

The car is a 08 Subaru Impreza, it has AWD. I had my wife get out and take pics, i did that hill 3 times and told her to pay particular attention to the wheel hoping to get a good shot of it off the ground.

    burn my paint?

The pc is just a simple tool that any idiot can throw at their car and either have to be trying or do something completely dumb to cause any real damage to the finish. At the same token, it is almost completely ineffective at removing anything but the slightest of imperfections. While it is not...

    I love my foam gun

I did manage to put a nice big scratch in one of my wheels and a scuff on the rear bumper. Some megs scratch-x took the scuff right out of the bumper, but the scratch on the wheel is a bit deeper. At least come spring I will get new wheels and the stockers will be delegated to snow wheels.

    Spray It On!

Sprays even and uses less product, if only I had a compressor I would be using it.

    I love my foam gun

This past weekend we were out of town for our anniversary and decided to have a wine picnic. I googled state parks and entered the closest one into the nav. Well, the nav didn't take us to the park, it took us 3 miles down a one lane (hardly) dirt path that ended in a dead end. I figured while I...

    Tire Shine

I have been using optimum (water based) on my car for about 3 months, in the summer I loved the look and durability and there was no sling. I use onr and I only clean the tires when I am ready to reapply the dressing (about every month) and it would last that long. Now with the rainy season I am...

    Interior Detail Process/Products Used

I have been using megs quik interior detailer followed by 303 for a long time. I have switched to using optimum tire shine now for the interior surfaces instead of 303 because it doesn't fog up windows or give me headaches. The bottle says it is safe for all interior and exterior plastic and...

    Optimum polish with orange pad

A single pass with opt compound and maybe followed with a pass of opt polish would have saved you some time. Even the polish is still cutting and 6 passes with polish i imagine would cut just as much or more than 1 pass with compound and 1 pass with polish. The compound is not much of a leap...

    Which was?

I have been using DG 901 for the past year or so after switching from megs. I like how it foams up, smells and how slick and smooth it is gliding across the paint. Lately however, I have been opting to use Optimum ONR for washing in the garage on the high temp days now that I no longer have a...

Car goes into body shop, comes out worse

Well, I spent another 8 hours on the car today. I finished the polishing and sealed it, then worked on the windows, tires and trim. I got most of the stuff out and the car looks pretty good, just a few minor things that only I will ever know are there. When I couldn't get everything out, I went...

Car goes into body shop, comes out worse

The damage was small ($414), just some drunk lady that backed into me in a parking lot and scuffed the bumper up. The car is 6 months old now, and it hasn't been polished since the week I picked it up. I use optimum opti-seal after every other wash, and it had a all-in-one cleaning about a...

Car goes into body shop, comes out worse

Jeweling the paint is all I am good at. It never seems like I can get swirls out, and today is no exception. I gave the car a good wash and clayed it. I started out polishing the hood with optimum polish and the white lc pad. I've done a couple passes on the hood increasing pressure and speed...

Car goes into body shop, comes out worse

Makes sense, but the body shop isn't required to go by the insurance quote, are they? Sure the adjusters will estimate it low, this was estimated at $414. I took it to another body shop that I thought was trustworthy and they gladly accepted the adjusters quote. Since it is your choice of where...
