    ditch the backing plate. get the edge 2k adapter and some edge 200 double sided wool pads and foam pads with the quick lock.. pretty good stuff, I use my rotary regularly..:cool:

    well, I don't use wheel pads for wax, and the regular compounds and polishes are usually water based, I haven't found a need to be harsh on them. the products used don't spoil or actually absorb into the wool or the sponge material in the pads, just the air spaces in the pads. at least that's...

    you only noticed it now? solvent pop or heavy orange peel = wet sand + rotary - watch the edges...or better, tape them off.

    i just hose em down real good right after I'm done and spin em for a bit, and put the pad side down to dry. don't let it sit in water, I don't think that's good for the adhesive which holds the pad to the wheel.

    keep the rpm well under 2000 till you get the hang of it. get some compund for at 1200 grit scratches to get rid of those lean over scratches. and yes do use a spritz of water once in a while if its hot outside. keep the pad flat, and rotation goes past an edge not into an edge. that's the only...
