    Grey Pad And Soveran

No not really. I actually use less and get more even coats with the PC and a finishing pad...a little goes a very long way. Here is a excerpt of a video on applying paste wax to a foam pad: http://paintcare-n-detailing.com/video/temp

    Black 65 mustang - Souveran

Thanks Everyone  It's a fun car to detail, but yesterday with the heat - 110 degrees outside and 100 degrees in the garage:eek: - it wasn't as much fun. killrwheels - You are correct Menzerna/Souveran is one of the best combos for black dennish - I have used both RMG and XMT...

    Black 65 mustang - Souveran

Here is my friends 65 Mustang, he needed it detailed for a show this weekend. It hadn't been detailed in about 9 months and had minor spiderwebbing from QD and car duster. I used Menzerna IP - LC orange pad Menzerna PO85RD - LC white pad XMT Finishing Glaze - LC gray pad (very nice glaze)...

    SSR3 Question

I haven't used Optimum Hyper Compound or Menzerna's Powergloss so I can't compare.....this is a good excuse to try something new :D

    SSR3 Question

Thanks FloridaNative, I appreciate it :D The website is always a work in progress and I should have some new stuff (videos, how to's, etc.) on there within the next month. I disagree, it probably doesn't finish down as well or as fast with a PC, then with a rotary, but it does work. It just...

    SSR3 Question

SSR3 is my go to aggressive polish and has always worked well for me with the PC. The thing to remember is the pad can get gummed up rather quickly and cause some bad hazing, so make sure to keep your pads clean and it will work great. Here is heavy oxidation removal with pc & SSR3 I did on...

1st time polisher...not so good results!

Here is what I do with any new polish I use for the first time · Use good lighting!! Without good lighting you can't see what the polish is doing and can't see if it's brokendown completely Using a 1'x1' section - apply the polish the same as any other polish Using little pressure and speed 4.5...

    Swirls - help...

That is typical micromarring/hazing from not working the polish completely. You've never seen it before because, unless it's very pronounced you can't see it on light or Metallic colors. I've said may times before you've never detail completely until you've detailed black. It can be removed...

    Hazing on Paint.

For intial swirl removing... Speed and pad choice?... color pad Speed 5-6 for any type of swirl/marring removal Pad - depends on the severity of the swirls/marring but always start with a polishing pad and work up in aggressiveness For final polishing..... Speed and pad choice... color pad...

    Hazing on Paint.

:iagree: These are 2 of the most common reasons for hazing/micromarring...and probably 90% of the reason people don't get the results they are trying to achieve when polishing. Some other common mistake are using too much product and, if using a PC, moving it too fast when working it in...

    Poorboy's wheel sealant.

PB Wheel Sealant has worked great for my uncoated aluminum wheels. I've been using it for the last 8 months and haven't had to do anything other then a light polish...and that is only to remove marring on my wheels. I apply it every 6 wks and I've yet to have any oxidation on my wheels. Here...

    Souveran Wax

Souveran is awful...it made my paint cloudy :p :righton: :awesome: It is all what it's cracked up to be, Souveran and Clearkote Carnauba Moose are two of my favorite LSP....Souveran being more reflective and CMW more darkening of the paint

    Cutting pads

Exactly, I have used Meguiars Cutting pad with a PC and like Killrwheels said you usually need to step down 2 polishes to remove the hazing (depending on the color). Here is a before and after using SSR3/Meguiars cutting pad follow by LC polishing pad and Menzerna IP: With that...

    Poorboy's Bold and Bright.

Depends on the weather, of course it last longer in dry weather, but I usually get about 2 weeks. The thing I like most about b&b is it doesn't attract dirt like other tire dressings

Tried more products, now need suggestions

If you are looking for a wheel wax/sealant I'd recommend Poorboys Wheel Sealant. I've been using it since Nov. and it's keep my uncoated aluminum wheels oxidize free. Here are my wheels as of yesterday...I've done nothing but light polishing every few months to remove marring since Nov...

    First impressions PC and pads

Exactly, a rotary in the right hands can cut the time in half if not more, and is definitely preferred by anyone proficient enough to use one. Now with that being said, there are a lot of people that don't have the time or desire to learn how to use a rotary so a PC is able to take their paint...

    First impressions PC and pads

IMO The PC is a great tool for enthusiast and weekend warriors for a few reasons: - like mentioned above, it's safe - You can get great results with the right product/pad combo - It does take longer then a rotary, but you still can remove heavy marring and not take all day. Here is a truck I did...

    Prepping pads?

Which CK products are you using? The only one that I mist my pads with Quikshine is CMW it helps thin it a bit and spreads around more evenly and easier. I can wax my Yukon with about 1 - 2 oz of CMW. VM, RMG are thin and they don't need any QD on the pad, also a little goes a long way.
