Wetsanding - Fresh Paint vs Factory Paint

Re: Wet-Sanding - Fresh Paint vs Factory Paint Hey Mike I ran into some clear on my mustang that had a fender replaced and had the hood re-cleared and the adjacent door. The clear on my hood is ROCK hard, I mean like it takes some power with the Flex/orange/m105 to remove marks/swirls.

    BIG Thanks!!

Good to know about the clear bra. I had always only used an AIO on them before people on here told me I could treat them just like paint. X3 on pics!

Polishes about to be done! Time for new ones!

In the words of Mike Phillips "find something you like and use it" If you like the line and you get good results I would stick with it. Maybe add in some 105/205 and see how you like it.

m105 and m205 leaving bad hazing and not correcting properly.

I've found that most car will look great after the Orange/M105 then white/light or medium polish :xyxthumbs: That last step is just something on top of that.

how do I prepair and buff a new clear coat paint job

I'm sorry but you are going to paint and wetsand a vehicle then remove all the damage from wetsanding with a PC? That is going to take a while by itself even though it can def be done. I would reccomend a M105/M205 combo starting with a yellow pad then working down to maybe a white pad with M105...

m105 and m205 leaving bad hazing and not correcting properly.

X2 on that gap being too big between the 2. Compounding will need at least a white pad to remove the damage in past experiences of mine.

The new Taurus SHO is a pretty killer machine. The new Fusion V6 is a pretty nice car too, I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at them. An AWD Charger V8 wouldn't be too bad either.
