Anyone use glaze on a coated car?

Thanks Mike! Would you have any hesitation using these on a coating then? Sounds like not.

Anyone use glaze on a coated car?

Yep. I like the gloss that comes with the coating, but next time around once it wears off I probably won't re-coat it. Nice wax and/or sealant should do the trick

    Recommend electric washer?

I have a SunJoe at this is correct, the fittings are non-standard. The high quality add on manufacturers (like MTM Hydro) make adapters for Sun Joe, so you can likely find adapters for foam cannons and the like. The description of Sun Joe as "alright" is also accurate, IMO. It works, but the...

Anyone use glaze on a coated car?

Thanks! I have Essence Plus and tried it. It was ok, very minor improvement, but safe. I have had better results on my non-coated car with other glazes, and was just wondering whether there is any reason not to use them on a coated car. On Essence Plus, I have seen some detailers on YouTube...

Anyone use glaze on a coated car?

Hi everyone, I have some light swirls I'd like to periodically hide (say for a car show or something) in my ceramic coated car. Coating still has a lot of life left to it, so I don't want to polish it off. Anyone use glazes over coatings to hide swirls? Any reason not to? I suspect it may...

Does Anyone Still Use Detail Sprays?

Nope...a shelf full of 1/8th used Detail Spray bottles that I suspect I won't make a dent in any time soon. Why pay today for something that's 90%+ water when you can buy the concentrate and do so much more with it? I have Showroom Shine as well. Adds a nice touch, but get a lot of heavy...

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

LOL no problem! The RPO code on the trim tag in the engine bay says the car was originally built with a 396 (also with correct option codes for what I otherwise see as options on the car), but the original motor is long gone, so I don't know if I'll ever be able to prove with certainty what it...

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Thanks. Yep, I have been using distilled water for dilution. A wipe down with a spritz of distilled water is a good suggestion, thanks! Though I am indeed beginning to suspect the heat of the panels has been a big part of the problem. Need to let everything cool down I suspect.

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Thanks for the perspectives. Yes, I have CarPro ECH2O, hasn't solved the problem. Per original post car is already ceramic coated, which I had hoped would help, but didn't really do the trick as hoped.

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Thanks! Indeed it is, though original motor is long gone. Indeed there is, but the 396 was introduced midway through production of the 67s.

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Sigh...I think you might be right Mike. I had coated it with the hope that the coating would have improved the scratch resistance and charge the surface characteristics enough so as avoid some of the marring and streaking. Appears not to have done the trick. For now I may just keep it as is...

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Thanks, sounds like you feel the same pain! I had been using exclusively waterless (and the occasional rinseless) washes after reading Mike's article about best practices in taking care of older cars. Have you had any issues using lots of water on an older car? Thanks!

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Thanks. I've tried a variety of towels (RagCo Eagles, Cobras, Griot's PFM) and waterless washes (Ultima, McKee's, really trying those with fewer gloss enhancers) and keep getting them same result. My latest suspicion is that it might be a combination of the clear coat...

Sooo....what's wrong with my clear coat?

Hi AG, SO, I bought my 1967 Camaro already restored. From what I can tell it was somewhat of a budget restoration and not a full frameoff / no expense spared restoration. Regarding the paint: I think the paint itself looks quite good. Color is nice, deep, and very shiny. It was swirl-city...

Using a drill to polish tight spots

Hello AG, I'd like to polish a few tight / small spots on my car that will be a bit hard to get to with my normal DA polisher. I have seen some attachments for using a handheld cordless drill as a polisher, and I was wondering whether that might do the trick without spending money on a whole...

Another review of Wolfgang SiO2 liquid sealant

Thanks! Correct, I didn't, and did not polish before. My guess is the bonding will be less than optimal without some kind of paint prep, but for my daily I just don't take the time to do that very often. Curious to see how it holds up even with the lack of surface prep.

Another review of Wolfgang SiO2 liquid sealant

Hi everyone, I tried out Wolfgang's SiO2 paint sealant today. Started with a rinseless wash with Uber, dried, then applied the sealant. Conditions weren't totally ideal since I was outdoors and it was a bit sunny. I was pretty happy with the product. Was very easy to apply and buff off. I've...
