    Car Cover Dilemma...

Ok folks, so a bit of a dilemma I'm seeking some advice for. I don't have a garage or carport at home (and can't build one, long story, but relates to permitting). I have a 1967 Camaro that was repainted about 5 years ago with two stage paint. Not my daily driver, maybe once a week. I had been...

Foam Cannon Recommendation for Sun Joe SPX3000

Thanks! I was wondering whether that’s indeed still the case? The link below suggests the PF22 now comes with the 1.1mm alteady; MTM Hydro PF22 Foam Cannon - 14.5013 - MTM Hydro Parts

Foam Cannon Recommendation for Sun Joe SPX3000

Hi everyone, Trying to pick a foam cannon for this, leaning towards MTM Hydro Parts. There are a few options on AG; PF22, featherweight and regular I believe. Any guidance as to which one to pick for a Sun Joe SPX3000? Thanks! HAMBO

    Recommendation for one step polish?

Hi everyone, I've got some light swirls on my 67 Camaro (repainted with a two stage paint several years ago) that I was hoping to polish out with a one step polish. I used HD Speed with an orange foam cutting pad and it did a pretty good job of making the paint look good and taking out the...

    Using old Wet Diamond sealant

I have a half finished bottle of wet diamond liquid paint sealant from about 4 years ago...Tried using it today and it came out all thin and liquidity. Tried shaking it up a bit and starting to thicken. Wondering whether worth it to keep trying to make it usable, or inevitably need to trash it...

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

The Lake Country sponge is definitely a better value, I have two of them. But it's much firmer than the BRS. I find it better with regular car wash than with rinseless wash, but it's a cool tool. Enjoy!

Tried the Big Red Sponge today...

Also tried it for a while and wasn’t a fan. Would store it in ONR, and pre-soak, but still found the sponge to have more friction than I would like when going across the paint, and would leave lots of dirt leftover on my drying towel. Went back to using a bunch of MF towels.

    Metro Air Force commander dryer

I have the McKee Dryer. It works fine, but I find the design is bulky and a bit clumsy.

Best way to wash a classic?

Hi Mike! Doing some reading through the forums and have seen mixed answers for this one. I have a 67 Camaro, and was wondering what's the best / safest way to wash it? Worried about swirl marks (it's a 2 stage paint) from not having enough lubrication / waterless washing if it's anything more...

1972 Camaro SS - OBSSSSD Show Wax

Looks great! I have a 67 SS/RS myself. Easy way to tell that's a 68: it has the fully black headlight covers (they switched to a different pattern in 69), and it's not a 67 since those have two extra little windows that pop open right in front of the passenger and driver front windows. Just FYI...

    1951 Merc Detail

Looks great! May I ask, did you use a hose / regular wash method? Any concerns about using lots of water on an old car like that given potential for rust?

Issue with ech2o and reload as drying aid

I find ECH2O very streaky, to the point that I've stopped using it. I have had better results with Reload when applying by spraying on the high pile side of an MF towel, applying it to the vehicle using the towel, then buffing off the with the pile side. If you are looking for a drying aid...

    OK to use old wax?

About two years ago I got some Blackfire midnight sun wax as a gift. I used it once, really liked it, but then had my car ceramic coated and haven't used it since. Would like to use the same wax now on another car. It's been sitting in the container for about 2 years. Think it's ok to use...

    Washing/Detailing a Classic Car

Thanks! I was also considering the occasional rinseless for when things do get messy. I don't have a covered garage. I store the car nearby in a covered garage but take it out on the occasional weekend so it will spend a day or two outside getting some stuff on it that I wouldn't normally use a...

    Washing/Detailing a Classic Car

Sorry, I should have clarified. Mike's advice is of course solid and based on more experience than any of us, and I have been following it. That article is however about 4-5 years old, and with all the new washing innovations that have been brought to market since then I was wondering whether...
