    Weekend Warrior Supplies

I would recommend getting at least a PorterCable 7424XP or Harbor Freight DA. Being able to use an AIO (all in one) with a machine will get you AWESOME results compared to working by hand, and it won't take as long. Some specific recommendations: Wash: Dawn dish soap Not very good for trim...

HELP: Starting a LEGIT Detailing business!!!

This is not awesome advice, unless you're looking to get sued. All it takes is one pissed off customer, and you're hosed for life. "No your Honor, my 'business' is not recognized by the city, county, or state." "No your Honor, I do not have business insurance." "Why yes your Honor, I...

    Newbie from St. Paul

Welcome! I claim Mankato as home. Look into the silica-based coatings - CarPro CQuartzUK, 22ple, etc. They're awesome for the severe winters the northern Midwest brings.

Scratches on the simulated wood dash

I would try a jeweling polish like SF4500 on a finishing or fine polishing pad (LC White or Black).

The Tale of Two Maserati's Long Write Up

Dude, this was one of the best reads I've had in a while. GREAT work. How do you like the Maserati? I'm trying to decide what saloon I want to replace my '02 Q45 with, and that gen Quattroporte is on the short list ('10-'12 Jaguar XJ L, '08-'11 Mercedes-Benz S65/S63 AMG, or Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG).

    4" pads burning and warping

My first time with 3" pads I collapsed a LC Yellow by running at 6 with FG400 (a warm polish to begin with). Oops.

    Meguiars micro fiber correction question

Got the XP? Mine spins fine. And I have poor results with MF at speed 6. The pad gets matted down and too hot, too quickly.

How to use the Dr. ColorChip Paint Chip Repair Systems

I don't know that the SealAct would work with another companies touch-up paint. I bought the kit with the 4oz SealAct, and just buy the smallst touch up bottles ($28) for other vehicles. The SealAct lasts a LONG time.

    Meguiars micro fiber correction question

I usually use between 4.5 and 5 on the PC when using compound and cutting discs, and between 3.5 and 4.5 when using a finer polish and the polishing discs.

Suggestions for the roof of this BMW

That looks like the beginnings of clear coat failure, not oxidization. Only real repair for clear coat failure is a repaint, because the problem isn't ON the paint, it's IN the paint.

Sanity Check before I ruin my MB S550

Pics please. A S63 or S65 is in my near future. :D Plan looks solid. It's always a good idea to do an IPA or Eraser wipe down before a coating.
